I have an external drive. I don't mind sending it to you. Just send it back when you've finished.

Are you at the JSB party?

Shall I bring it along to that or do you want me to post it to you first? Either is fine by me. I don't intend using it for a while.

You do get the Steam code with the disc version also, you should be able to install without actually needing the disc if I remember right.

Chief Commentator!
Got it home, opened the box, and there it was; the steam code. Found how to activate a 'disc' version via steam, and its installing as we speak! Awesome!

So wont need to take you up on your kind offer Torchy, but appreciate it!

Still come and say 'Hi' at the party though!

I still play the 2012 version very occasionally. Is it worth buying a newer version?

Depends how you play the game I reckon, I normally start lower league and build a club up, long career save, so most of the players are regens when I get to the Premier, thats why I play FM07 still.

I suppose if you like to go straight for the bigger clubs or Cov for example and want instant success with all the players they currently have, go for a newer version.

The thing I don't like about newer versions is its too complicated, dealing with agents, press conferences etc. and also my PC prolly couldn't cope with the extra stuff! :D

I wouldn't mind getting hold of an old copy of Championship manager circa 96-97. Get Ian Wright or Ferdinand up top with Ndlovu or Dion, cheeky bid for Zidane. Can't remember if editors were avilable for those versions, yep I use editors...sacrilege maybe but I don't care. Maverick.

Was thinking this the other day, my mate had CM on his old Amiga and I was absurdly addicted to it. Had Tony Yeboah and Dean Saunders up front and they smashed the life out of any defence. Think I had Zvonmir Boban in midfield, Pessotto in defence and Seaman in goal. Formidable Cov team, it was. :D

Blinding! Nothing like a bit of nostalgia, plus managing at Highfield Road...bonus. Was gonna edit the stadium on fm15 from Ricoh back to Highfield.

Yep I remember champ manager 93! We used to play it for about 7 hours between three of us, where you had to switch seats to control your team! None of this internet linking malarkey.

I can remember when it used to take hours between seasons and playing until about 3am so I could get the next season sorted overnight.

Just got fm16 tonight as my fm14 had a problem

won the league last night on fm16 with spurs in 2020, playing the most sublime pep guardiola influenced football!

You playing on the laptop version or iPad mobile version?

Been playing this since the LMA versions, these days I kill hours at work on the iPad version of FM 2017

I started a game unemployed in the summer with the intentions of taking the cov job, Slade was obviously sacked by xmas and Paul Cook got the job ahead of me. I stuck to it and sure enough they got relegated to league two. Cook continued to struggle in the role and with 10 games left was finally sacked and I was appointed with the club 20th in 17/18 season.
I secured survival and set about the rebuild, the following season I won the checkatrade trophy and finished 3rd gaining promotion to league one in 18/19 season
A 10th place finish in 19/20 and failed defence of the trophy, another rebuild in the summer of 2020 gave us league one runners up spot and another checkatrade trophy.

2021/22 gave mixed success as I reached the quarter finals of the fa cup and 16th place finish. Another rebuild and investment in 3 Swedish international players brought success with promotion to the premier league in 22/23 season. A few clever purchases gave a respectable 9th place finish in 23/24 and having rejected Man Utd's 45m, 58m and a final 62m bid for my star Bosnian international in the summer we qualified for the champions league with a 3rd place finish in 24/25 season.

Not sure if I'm gonna continue and risk the sack or leave a legend.

I miss my FM addiction! :(
Me too!
I upgraded to FM09 from 07 last year. Started at a lowly Leigh RMI, got promoted to the Premier League after a few years, then took over the Cov job and won everything!
Got bored soon after that, I'm afraid.

As I've said earlier in this thread, I'm reluctant to upgrade to a newer version just based on the amount of press conference's, dealing with agents etc. but I believe there is a cut down version of the game, like "Classic mode FM" or something?

Laptop versions are too in depth for my liking on certain aspects but the iPad versions are a nice balance and cause the same outburst of rage and jubilation.
