What a gentleman this young man is - I for one wish him all the best!

“Absolutely delighted to have joined Norwich City Football Club as they next chapter in my career. This is dream for me and I’m looking forward to starting my journey with the Canaries. Lots to look forward to.

“As for the rest of the season I can promise I will give everything to help gain promotion for my hometown club Coventry City, a club that has made the player and person I am today and I am truly grateful to every single person who has a part to play in my development!

“CCFC is a club that will forever have a place in my heart! But not just the club, the fans as well! To every single one of you who has supported me since the first time I was on the bench as a 16 year old, I can’t thank you enough and hope to repay you with promotion this year. We as a city deserve it.

“It’s been an honour to wear the sky blue shirt of my own city and I will continue to wear it with pride for the remainder of the season. Thank for your all the messages.”

Let's hope he does actually give us all and we get promoted.

You can't blame him for wanting to move can you? Premier League Team, probably 5 or 6 times as much a week than here and maybe more chance of England U21 if he is with a Premier League team. He will probably be set for life.

I'm certainly not going to start shouting money grabber at him, this is football.

I just hope we dont HAVE to play him every week now.

I can see why his comments about Norwich last night annoyed people, if it was even said / written by him and not an agent etc then it is a bit misadvised if he has to come here for the next few months.

Unfortunately due to the timing and the way he left, there are going to be supporters who are going to direct their frustrations towards James. I for one am annoyed and feel the deal could have waited until the summer, but would rather vent my frustrations towards the board then James.

Would be an absolute disgrace if anyone gave him a hard time. Hes was the Jewel in our crown, respect him and enjoy him whilst he's still here.

The same ones who probably sang she said yes marlon when he played for us, then called him a rapist etc when he played against us.

They will be angry we didn't get £100 million for him, but they will keep saying how shit he is.

The not very bright ones!

Time to show what he has to offer now then.Missing in action second half last Saturday.Lets hope we see some of his talent consistently over the rest of the season and not just in small spells.

There's a lad who is having a twitter Convo with Rcc and I can't help but agree that he does need to sort his attitude out and get his head down. The lad offering him out off the team bus is embarrassing tho.

James never ever asked to leave this football club. This isn’t James Maddison just wanting to better himself, this is a very talented boy with lots of interested clubs in him. It’s just what happens in football.
“Without preaching to the fans, which supporter wouldn’t go and play in the Premier League if they had the opportunity from League One; to go and test their talent and ability and test themselves as human beings.
“We all want to watch the Premier League full of world class players and televised in front of the nation – who wouldn’t want to be part of that?
“So fans shouldn’t blame James, or think he’s being disloyal, because he loves this football club and was adamant he remained here for the rest of the season so he can help us achieve our ambitions.

Couldn't wait to get out of here at the first available transfer window though. Given the fact that there is a possibility that Norwich and CCFC could be in the same league next year this just doesn't make sense. This is where he is caught in a lie - he should have waited until the end of the year to make sure it is a premier league club he is moving to.

Just to clarify, it is clearly financially motivated due to this fact... if we had got promotion we might have been in a position to offer him very similar terms.

TM said he wouldn't sell him unless it was a big offer. We don't know how much he was sold for or how much TM considered to be a big offer.

Say for a moment Maddison did ask to leave, Mowbray isn't going to come out and slate him when he has to work with him for the the rest of the season. It would be bad management.

No way. Even if Norwich get relegated, they will have parachute payments that make them considerably richer than us and they will be among the favourites to go back up. In addition, whether we get promoted or not is very much uncertain.
