But what if the FL removed the Golden Share based on not able to demonstrate a 10 year plan on where we play ?

Then we no longer have a football club in the league, that then has to apply for entry at whatever level would take us, and potentially gets wound up as a result.

You could equally ask 'what if the FL waives its objection to franchising because of our circumstances, and lets us relocate permanently?'

Which is what many of us believed might well have happened in. Northampton.

For all the talk of it being temporary and coming back, Sisu were quite clearly saying there was no return to the Ricoh, so we had absolutely nowhere to go.

Thing is, if we were to move away 'temporarily' once again, just how many of us would believe that to end up being permanent?

There would be some formal notice of that intention, much wringing of hands by our owners and probably a 11th hour deal to extend the Ricoh deal. All again the big bad world forcing a deal on SISU deal that is they would claim , at least to the world, that is not favourable. they would still have control and look to continue with JR 2 + N

Does anyone really think the FL has the balls to do that? has the appetite for the legal cases that would follow?

Not a chance. They'd rather let the club play in Inverness.

I wish posters would stop the fantasy about SISU not able to fund a new stadium, Grimsby for instance have been granted a new 18000 seater stadium that will be financed by a leisure company , no cost to the club.
There are plenty of examples of new grounds being part funded or fully funded by other companies.
If we can get a site it's certain the ground will be built.

Tim is in charge, are you feeling confident of success?

Northampton was obviously not permanent. It was so clearly a play, mad Jack McMad could have deduced that. Moving to a place with a club at a similar level, and an established rugby team that hoovers up fans would never be permanent.

The danger next time is... what's the play? There has to be an incentive to move... there has to be an incentive to sign a deal with Wasps.

Currently I struggle to see a reason why you'd do either... and that leaves a very uncomfortable elephant in the room.

Well... two really.

But we would then rent it. Sisu have already said we would pay rent.
Will it be more than the current deal and what access to revenues would we have?
People just think that building a new stadium is the answer but don't look at the bigger picture.

If something's gifted free, my instinct is to say it's too good to be true.

What's the catch? What does said leisure company get out of this deal?

Its all being done so Grendull can't point out that Grimsby's ground is in Cleethorpes.

The company are putting in £55M to build a leisure complex including the ground.

It doesn't look like a cast iron plan yet, there is opposition.

Call me Jack McMad then! ;)

Not talking about originally when we first went, but in time and I know loads of people thought the same.

Let me put a scenario to you, which is basically the scenario we have now. People say Wasps want us out. Okay, if we had stayed at Northampton for 2 more seasons (very feasible, because the Ricoh boat had sailed if you remember), we could be exactly where we are now. Wasps refusing to talk to us, the Butts a no go and nowhere to return to and still playing in Northampton..

If we had nowhere to return to where would we have stayed? Northampton, or another ground share, or the fantasy stadium that Sisu have no intention of building.

The bottom line is, had we stayed at Northampton for 3 or 4 seasons it could well have been permanent (and I am not talking forever, but long, long term). 10-12 years down the line we probably wouldn't have a club left anyway.

Don't trust your instinct!

I went into a Greggs at lunch yesterday and the young lady let me have a steak bake for free, just because they weren't just out of the oven. She just smiled and said enjoy. You're too cynical NW.

Very, very true.

I had sex for nothing once.

Had she have woken her up I would have been in for it, but luckily she slept through the whole thing.

People do look at the bigger picture, including the need to have our own identity.

The current deal is irrelevant now as it ends next season and any new deal will be on significantly worse terms and more expensive.

Here is definitely one of the cynical ones!

And you know that as 100% fact do you? I suppose then you think that if as Italia says we rent off Sisu we'd be on a fantastic deal?

Funny that as I thought all hedge funds were the same......

I don't know it as a fact given I am not David Armstrong or Nick Eastwood, but I am 99.9% certain any new deal will be significantly higher than the current £100k pa and very likely terms will be worse probably included exclusion of a breakout clause.

I have absolutely no idea how much rent sisu would charge us, so I can't say its a fantastic deal or not. But then again neither do you or Italia.

Seeing as you're now David and Nick, can you give us a great deal!

And you're right, I don't know whether Sisu would give us a bad or good deal. That's why I'm not shouting on forums about deals that I don't know that we would get or not

while I have no doubt the rent would be higher, £100K is very reasonable to be fair, not to have a break claus in a commercial rental agreement would be very unusual in my experience.

Agreed, although if wasps are waiting for us to sign up long term in order to agree a stadium sponsorship deal, they won't want us moving out mid deal, as that will impact on the sponsorship deal. Our last long term deal had no breakout clause.

I imagine the new deal will be £500k+ pa plus, with then thr obligatory £10-12k per match matchday costs. I've heard whispers that wasps are trying to make us buy additional things through them, like the stewarding. I bet they could add a nice mark up on that.

I'm not shouting, just pointing out that you can't use the current deal as a reference point.

I look forward to you picking italia and others up when they're shouting about deals they don't know that we would get or not

No you were not. You were stating that we would be getting far worse deals than we were currently getting now. You then went even further by making up numbers, yes that's making up numbers Stupot as you haven't actually got a fucking clue what we will or won't get from Wasps, Sisu or any other fucker involved in this.

But do you know what mate, you carry on because I can't be arsed and I'll just let you keep making up things you know nothing about.

The reality of course is that we 'could end up' on a higher deal, but it is not fact, not in black and white and not certain.

Tis but a guess, as with a lot of stuff here on SBT.

Hahahahaha you're such a Muppet.

Do you think we will get another £100k pa rental deal or do you think it will be more expensive?

Firstly it's a 14000 stadium not 18 ,but my memory is shite and I read about it a few weeks ago.
The leisure company as part of the agreement gets planning permission to build up to 1600 homes around the site, plus lots of retail units. It's being built on a site outside the town next to the crematorium ,bit creepy that but it will create over 300 jobs.
I presume the company will make a lot of money ,easily enough to build the stadium and I presume they only got permission because of the stadium.

So a pretty similar situation to the Ricoh. Wonder if Grimsby will be paying £1.2m a year to play there with no revenue access.

I have no idea chief, surely the money they will get for selling Blundell Park will go into securing a sizeable share of the ground ,again like we did but hopefully they won't get involved with their local council.
I've never been there but I'm sure it's a city centre ground so should get a good price for the site.

How know Stupot, that's thing. I don't know and neither do you, despite all of your numbers and bollocks stats. But if you're really pushing for an answer then I'd say it might be a bit more than we are paying now. But so what because what is the alternative? But Wasps know that our owners have left the stadium before so why would they charge us massive rent knowing that they'd get fuck all if we left?

With regard to your first comment, it's easy to throw insults behind a keyboard pal.

No one has said there isn't an other option, I cant see anything other than another shortish term deal at the Ricoh, we're not going to move out again and we aren't going to build a new stadium. But let's not compare all those other options for the deal we have right here right now, as its not the deal we will have when this deal expires.

Yes, easy to throw insults, like you do when you take the piss out of my stats and numbers.

in the CT article, unless i misread, JS is quoted as saying tim fisher's done a good job,
good grief !!!

A good job for SISU and a good job for CCFC are two very different things. He may have done the job she wanted but its been a whole crock of shit for us.
