I used to like the morning bloke on CWR.
He wouldn't mess around. Whoever he was interviewing.
SISU or the council he always hit them with the uncomfortable questions and wouldn't allow himself to be fobbed off.
Real shame they ditched him.
Was it Shane oconner?

Yes O'connor was the best presenter on the station, its a scandal that he was binned off to be replaced by those 2 women who are absolutely hopeless.

Shane O'Connor was the only presenter with any journalistic credibility on CWR, but the BBC DG made the decision to introduce women presenters to all local radio station breakfast programmes. I'm not dissing women presenters in general, but the two they have on CWR now are fucking useless (and irritating).

How about £1.3m rent to start with?

It was uncommercial and just happened to fit the then rental return on the ( alleged ) cost of the Stadium
Why was such a rent and the lease given to a business some £60m in debt and losing money
A rent predicated on having a major sale of at least one top player a season.
Even the first payment was deferred!

Its clear that SISU are not solely to blame for our current predicament but I have no confidence that SISU have the right motivation, strategic foresight or financial credibility to resolve our problems. I don't believe in "better the devil you know" - we will not go forward under SISU.

How on earth is anybody else to blame ? Sisu are responsible for CCFC nobody else .

Sisu were not to blame for the high rent but CCFC previous management were.
Didn't want a sliding scale if they dropped down a division because they expected to go back up to the PL and with rent set at £1.2 M they would be quids in.
Why Sisu never changed it is beyond me.

I think they were also expecting the inevitable return to the premiership.

If I'm honest, I actually thought it was a good review and I've always been honest that I don't understand everything that's going on in as much detail as many on here.

As for the damning view of SISU arising from this...the same can be said of the council/ACL. If rent of £100k was negotiated to get us back, why was it set at £1.3m originally before SISU came in? In fairness to the CET (whom I'm often a critic....the website is awful), I thought it was a good summary and helped me understand things a little more.

It doesn't alter my views on where the fault lies with everything we have that's wrong with us though. The fault is with SISU and CCC although stemmed from the Richardson era of frivolous spending and living beyond our means. Our owners are simply shocking but at the same time, the decisions made by CCC, in my opinion, have been made more out of spite and personal differences, than commercial reasons.

you do know if you criticise the council you're a sisu lover, even if you criticise sisu in the same post!

I totally agree, the root cause of all this is sisu, but the councils current agenda against them means that even with new owners there will be no way back for the club. This everything will be rosy once sisu go attitude is very naive in my opinion.

I think the one being "Naive" is you. CCC and partners in crime, would be happy to accomodate CCFC under new owners. I think you could expect land to "Become available" and a stadium built in double quick time. Just my opinion of course, along with thousands of others if the truth be known.

I disagree but I hope you're right, you're outcome is a lot more appealing to mine. Of course neither will happen until sisu fuck off and I've a feeling that won't be for a while, again, I hope I'm wrong.

What I meant though was the root cause was actually Richardson et al in the 90's. SISU have royally fooked it up since they've been here but the council are complicit in the bleakest outlook of this football club. It all started with Richardson though.

You're right about new owners though...unless they want to spunk £100m on a new stadium and academy before they even begin to think about the football side of things.

Agree with you they are boring presenters.
The fact they are women is irrelevant, they are just poor.

I think that might have been me in which case i apologise it was a mistake. I must have seen something vaguely supportive of SISU in your post.

SUSI only want to pay lawyers .There was a ground built special for the club they could not afford to pay it when they come in any time there were discussions about rent or buying it according to them it was to was not worth it. I don't hear WASPS saying it not worth it Although not being a follower of them I also notice they are putting together a pretty decent team on the field .In fact everything they do seems to do is done professionally as apposed to our amateurish way

So you think raising £35 million finance so to pay back its owner ,lumbering the club with a minimum repayment of £2 million a year for the foreseeable future is good and in the best interests of the club.
Interesting how you see how to run a business
How would you feel if Seppala did exactly the same ?

People were writing to the council when they thought SISU might get the Ricoh urging the council not to let them have it as they would use it as security to take out finance to pay themselves back. Wasps come in and do exactly the same and people bang on about how well they run the business.

The amount supposedly put into our club is more than £35mill. what have we got to show for it Ryton everything else has been hived off . The council didn't want them to have it because they knew they only wanted this (white elephant) to sell the club. I think they seem to have more building blocks in place i e. academy where as we are going backwards unless you can tell me Tim's found us a ground .
