Why do they always beat us to it, they have offered "Their" stewards( which are the ones we recruited ), to marshal the Bedworth armistice parade and help save it. Grab the headlines with a grand gesture while CCFC stand and watch. We are kin useless at PR

They have a pr team based at the Ricoh and friends in the local media all things ccfc have let go,its a crying shame but not a surprise. I desperately want rid of our owners but arrival of wasps and the support they get I find deeply depressing they are a London franchise

Forgive my ignorance but most stewards have full time jobs do they not? So won't most of them be elsewhere at the time of the parade?

So are Wasps providing, and paying, all the stewards for the parade or is the real story that a handful of people who happen to be stewards have volunteered their services?

The last report I read wasps were providing only 10 stewards for the parade, CT were reporting they saved the parade

We'll done to them for helping, but poor headlines from CT

Italia's source said JLR are going to sponsor these 10 stewards for this 1 event, but only after Sisu drop the JR's

Sisu were going to sponsor it but the ongoing court case involving Lord Kitchenor was a conflict of interest.

Providing 10 and paying for them
So they asked for volunteers, say they were overwhelmed with the response yet Wasps are saving the parade by paying for 10 stewards. Doesn't quite add up as usual. Though with the money the stewards will be on its a cheap PR job for Wasps, just a shame that they see an event like this as a PR opportunity, not really what its all about IMO.

Like the Ricoh master plan it should have just folded ?

Didn't say it should have folded. Just saying its a bit odd that when the organisers are using phrases like 'overwhelmed' and 'flooded' in response to their request for volunteers the parade can only go ahead if Wasps pay 10 stewards.

And even if that was correct my personal opinion is it should have just been done on the quiet. Armistice Day parades aren't PR opportunities in my book.

I get all the Wasps blurb (as a season ticket holder) and read the website and have seen nothing.
Just checked the depths of the CET website and finally found the article.
To be honest this thread is giving it more publicity.
We must be running out of hair shirts.

Whose fault though? The job of whoever does PR is to get good things reported. Even if our owners are not popular someone should be getting the good things across.

You would think when people are making 4 or 5 articles out of each bit of news they would be welcoming things like The Legacy Fund.

Yet again CT blowing a non story into headline news! Almost as if the parade needed 'saving'! It's one of the biggest Rememberance parades in the country! People from all over the country go to it! But Wasps' have save their bacon with 10 stewards!!

Yes, if it is newsworthy that a guy flies home not to go to a game....., ( the fact that it was his birthday and he wanted to see his mum may also have helped him make his decision)... then there must also be a way of making 'positive CCFC related things' newsworthy. Question being, whose job is it? The person making the press releases or the person receiving them?

You go on about the legacy fund Nick.
But from what I have heard CCFC don't want to help?
That is why FTJHW have said they will try and help out with getting donations.
So not really something to shout out about at a club level is it.

Well the organiser of the parade who is well in his 80's and came out of retirement to help was on CWR a couple of weeks ago asking for help.
Due to H and S issues they now need more volunteers, or it would have to be scrapped.
So you ether believe him or you don't.
Seemed very genuine to me.

Heard from who I wonder?

Aren't the club pushing it via email, social media and every home game? Like people collecting their ball on the pitch? Aren't they providing the experiences and the signed stuff?

Still doesn't explain why the telegraph haven't mentioned the tifosy stuff even when asked?

I'd say it's very much something to shout about.

Did the march raise much btw? I was in before so didn't get to see any buckets to chuck some into.

The fighting like Jimmy hill people on social media (not you) have pushed gilberts book more than the legacy fund.

See you didn't look.at the.ccfc involved in the poppy launch thread either. Usual pattern. Same as the kids with ccfc thread the other day, will be kicking off saying nothing there for the kids etc.

The march never raised anything due to all the lack of volunteers.
Nick don't keep crying only mentioned what I had heard as for the poppy appeal is that something new they have started this year, or have the been doing this for years?
And as for the book I haven't read it probebly won't read it and to be honest haven't seen it pushed anywhere bar the comments of a few on here, they promote it more then anyone.
And before you mention the likes of Twitter etc I don't Twit :)

That's why I.said not you.

I'm not crying, is just interesting how it's what you have heard, rather than actually what's happening.

There was a guy on the pitch last game getting his ball, with promotion of it and in the program.

Still doesn't answer why the telegraph won't mention it.
