Seen Placebo at the NEC on Thursday, and then Super Furry Animals at the O2 instiute. Both very different but very good gigs. I cannot stand the institute though. Tiny place, too many people there and beer was £5.20 a pint.
5.20? that's cheap for a Beer at any gig nowadays.
HammerSmith was £6 a pint Sunday
Institute is my favourite place. horses for courses and all that

How were the Super Furrys? Did they play Fuzzy Logic and Radiator straight through?

Half man Half Biscuit and the empire last night. Excellent gig and loads of banter and references to the football club (willie Carr, Jeff Blockley, Mick Coop to mention a few) and the vile wasps moving in.
They were on for the best part of 2 hours. which is some going when most tracks are 2 1/2 minutes long.

Went to see Jesus and Mary Chain last night in Brum. One of the best gigs I've ever been to and last nights Some Candy Talking is up in my top 3 for one of the best live songs I've seen done. If you like them then you should try and see them at the minute becausethey are on fire.
They're on in Oxford tomorrow night and I'm toying with going again if I can get back in time tomorrow.

Went to see the Cure in December in London, great live band but too many encores for me and left before the end. Saw Sabbath in Leeds and thoroughly enjoyed it and I've got Maiden coming up next month.

Got tickets for Royal Blood in Brum in November so gives me something to look forward to. At The Drive In should be cracking support too.

Yeah not usually my thing but I also like her. To be fair to her she also pulled it off at Glastonbury last year although some will quite rightly argue that she shotbe nowhere near that stage.

At the end of last week I booked tickets to see Ed Sheeran. Next May. Infuriates me that I have to plan 10 months in advance. Much rather do like I did with the Courteeners when I saw them in May, and book 3 weeks before.

See Deep Purple have announced a World tour, new Album I think as well! B-)
Hmmm.

Whilst Steve Morse is a fantastic guitarist, right at the top of his game, they lost the edge when Blackmore left, IMNSHO. They're just all too happy nowadays, and cruising as a result.

And in their own way, whilst Don Airey ain't a bad substitute at all, not sure it's the same without Jon Lord.

It was actually, probably, their last ever gig given that Chester killed himself.

That's a hell of an privilege!
Indeed it was! We were talking about it the other night and some of the crowd interactions were, you could say, a bit intimate. Maybe he had thoughts.....:emoji_disappointed:

Saw Jesus and Mary Chain again last night. They were excellent again and did plenty of their early stuff as well as a load off the new album.
They were supported by Brix and the Extricated who are lead by Brix Smith (ex of Mark E smith of the Fall) They were very good too and chucked in a couple do decent old Fall tracks into their set (dead beat descendant and LA). She's very very short.
