You'd better believe it baby!!!

This is going to be our year. I can feel it in my bones. Not only has Robins seemingly brought in very decent players for this level, he has also brought in players with the right attitude and spirit.

And signed all the permanent ones on 2yr deals, which is a very good idea

That price will fluctuate with Luton, plus Birmingham are interested in there striker Isaac Vassell which will weaken there strength in strikers.

Another win for us and we could end up a much closer 2nd favourite over the weekend
It will change all season until we know what clubs pull away from the pack. It doesn't go by players coming or going. It changes by the money put on. And most of that is by results. Our latest signing certainly improves our chances. But the odds have stayed the same.

Yeah I'm familiar with how the market works but a sale of one of there main strikers may possibly affect results which will mean punters won't be backing them for the title if they have a spell of shakey games.

Market won't change for us until we win again or string a run of games together being in the automatic places.

Top 3 all season, unbeaten at home in the league all season, 13000 average attendances around Christmas and 17,500 by the end of the season with a packed out Ricoh for the promotion party!

wonder what our owners have budgeted as the break even figure this season?
Can't believe it would be any where near the 10,000 we got Saturday.

It's an interesting question which will have a lot of people scrambling for their bookmarked Fisher Sixfields interview :D After the slow early season ticket sales they'd have been bonkers to expect more than 7500 surely? If we win at Grimsby I'd expect a lot of match packages and late STs to be sold! Ought to be more indication than ever to them too that people will pay anything to watch their footy team, as long as the end product and atmosphere around the club is good!

Did somebody say Tim Fisher interview?

Agree though, I think people should enjoy it and see it for what it is which is despite SISU rather than because of them.

How about being more realistic.

Home and away a sellout for the last month as a top 3 finish already guaranteed. Just need a few more points to be Division 4 champions. But we only average 15,000 before then.

One thing our fanbase does more than maybe any other club, for very understandable reasons, is get swept up in momentum. We saw it for that brief spell under Mowbray, the JPT games and for the Checkatrade. For the majority, success on the pitch will always overrule any political issues with attending.

It has always been the same.

We do have a large fan base. But many have had too many years of getting kicked in the balls after it looks like we have turned the corner.

FA cup winners. Yes that was brilliant. Two years later knocked out by a non league club. Top or near the top at Xmas to end up near the bottom. Not knowing what a top 6 finish is like let alone having a season where we are serious challengers. Getting relegated and then still hanging around the bottom of the table. Having a great day at Wembley but still getting relegated.

But at least we now know what a JR is  Being a CCFC supporter gives you knowledge and helps you to appreciate the good times. And if we do well this season many will come back.

You missed the bit where Mark Robins parachutes into the Ricoh in his full suit landing exactly in his technical area.
And lands on Fishers head. The bang to his head does him good though as he starts to do what is best for our club. He never talks again.

I find it hard to believe that you have a wife never mind her staying with you for an anniversary ;)

Well, it might still spontaneously combust this season. Just had a vision: City to be top of L2 at Christmas before Gilbert releases a Boxing Day exclusive of Robins having his Christmas Dinner in Cathedral Lanes Wagamamas revealing his previously unknown and secret partner to be none other than Joy herself and then using a fake NUS card to get 25% discount. The SBA to turn on him and City to capitulate to 13th before recovering to 8th with Robins getting sacked on the final day of the season. Covcity4life to spend the next year trying to convince everyone Robins was the joint best manager we've ever had.

We have replaced players who have left or been shown the door with other players nothing more nothing less, now are the newbies better ?time will tell on that one. In my opinion the manager is better, that's a plus, most of the newbies are on 2 year contracts another big plus and a number have experience of this division again a big plus, but I'm keeping my feet firmly on the ground as yet, still not absolutely convinced we have solved the goal scoring department but if we can improve our goal scoring from around the team midfield in particular things will look better.

Yeah, that's definitely the worst case scenario for sure.

Best case? Not even going to begin to imagine it.

Well we scored 3 in our first game and a reserve side scored in our second.

Which is how most teams win leagues / get promotion. Having a 20 goal striker does not guarantee you anything as has been said many times. Goals need to come from right across the whole squad. I would say we now have at least 4 players, maybe 5 who can all get close to, or into double figures this season.

Out of the new players O'Brien so far looks like the best GK we have had for years. Doyle is the midfield general we have been missing for years. A few of the others look decent as well. They are playing as a team. We made Notts County look poor. And they are supposed to be playoff contenders. Robins has brought in a player that teams above us wanted. Our younger players start this season with experience. Jones certainly looks like he can do something at this level.

So no. We don't know how well we will do. But what I have seen so far gives me hope. And I am not worried about any position on the pitch. Yes injuries could hurt our season. But that is the same for every club.

Apart from Luton I haven't seen anything to worry us yet. And they lost 2-0 at home in the cup. So lets see in a few more games if they are as good as we think. They might have just had a lucky day against the divisions whipping boys.

One game you are basing that on. If we lose 5-0 tomorrow what is the verdict then?

Students get 25% off in Wagamamas? Why didn't I know this?

I am being realistic on how we played against a club expected to be in or near the playoff places. Would you like to bet on your 5-0 prediction? Of course not as you are not being realistic.

Good news for you. You can get 200/1 on what you want me to comment on.
