They seem a level headed bunch. I particularly liked this comment.

"I do actually admire their fans; an enlightened, go-ahead club suffered an appalling buy-out by a hedge fund which is driving them into oblivion. It takes a loyal fan to keep following them as far as here despite what they have become."

They think we don't like them because we don't like Slade.. No, we just don't like Slade.

I went to school with a lad who supported Grimsby. He was called Olaf and this was in the Clive Mendonca days.

I like them just because of this.

My comment got a mention from Grimsby2012.

If they have to watch the kind of shit the school teacher had us playing I pity them.

Fourth page comment made me larf, as the poster goes on to mention midfielders regarding Slade in the same sentence. The fooker doesn't use 'em.
"I thought we may have got some midfielders offloaded by now, goes to show he either wants them or no one else does."

If we lose to Slade we might as well call it a day. Saying that, I think we will win 1-3 and Slade will do his famous 1-0 pose to the Grimsby fans behind him, before they concede 3 goals in the last 10 minutes:emoji_thumbsup:

looks like some sensible heads on the forum annoyed at police decision not let pay at the gate on the day lost revenue for them.

You know what. I'm pretty good with my geography in general. But I thought Grimsby was in the West Midlands. Near Dudley or something. Ha ha

Could be the name.

About the one decision the ref got right. We should have had at least 2 penalties.

Yep, that argument being bandied about, but when a player is passing backwards like that from a free kick you never see a ref make the forward go back 10 yards.

Had Clarke hit it forwards it would have been retaken. You often see refs make a player retreat 10 yards, but that is when the ball is being hit forwards. They don't do it if a player is passing backwards unless that player is only a yard or two from the ball.

Definitely a goal and rightfully given to my mind.

Had a look round - pretty honest opinions - Astute in there giving the Cov end ! only one dickead said we were conning the referee - seems Jones was stamped on according to Clive and was a stonewall penalty

Not to mention the Vincente one!

This '10 yard' thing, is it even a 'thing' when the player opts to take a quick free kick?

Even if a player is 2 yards in front of him, unless it hits him preventing the free kick being taken which would earn him a yellow card, wouldn't the ref have played on?

Like when there's a direct free kick, you get the option. Wait for the whistle and I'll take the wall back, or go quick and the games allowed to get under way?
