If I’m generous I could write off the first half as just one of those tetchy games where everyone on the pitch (maybe at the behest of Russell Slade) seems hell-bent on keeping the ball’s average altitude above a metre – sort of like a really inconsequential (not to mention unprofessional) version of the film Speed. Alas, I’ve got a sneaking suspicion (and by sneaking, I mean a complete unwavering certainty) that this is just what League Two is like.

Reminds me of your early pieces, very difficult to read because you're trying too hard with the language rather than the content and style (which is your strength and you always absolutely nail)
