Scored again yesterday for the U23's SURELY as we don't seem to be able to score and he's banging them in it's time to give the lad a go ? I'm all for waiting until someone's ready but we all know what will happen, he'll remain in the U23s getting frustrated at lack of opportunitys and will refuse a new contract when one is offered and piss off elsewhere, it's happened time and again with us,

I honestly can't see what we could lose by giving him a shot

I would be more inclined to pick a fit, more experienced and firing Kwarme Thomas over Ponticelli to be honest!
But that's just my opinion!

Sounds like you are questioning Robins ability to judge a striker.

Kwame Thomas scored yesterday too.

Very true, kwame has scored 3 in 3 like Ponticelli. He deserves his chance too.

Scored for U23's then went off injured, again!

And why did he go off injured? What's his injury?

Easy to put a throw away comment like he's injured again, reality is different tho. It was a collision between him and the keeper. Common sense says for him to go off not play on in a meaningless u23 game.

yet 1 is shit and the other is the messiah!
I wouldn't let Pontecelli anywhere near the first team for his own sake.
Can't burden the kid with too much expectation.

I said look at his injury record, not even suggesting he shouldn't have come off HELP!

He'll be gone before the end of this season.

Do you think it's possible that robins is purposefully not playing ponticelli (and maybe even kwame) until the window closes?

Kwame appeared to be knocked out cold following a collision with the Leeds keeper. He was down for a good 5 minutes and was treated by the physio and two paramedics. He eventually walked off but was clearly out of it. Ponticelli's finish was top drawer. Struck dropping ball first time across keeper into the bottom corner.

If that's the case it's very hard to see him featuring in midweek, or next weekend If MR was minded to.

You've had players in the England squad at 17 and we're worried about him being "Cannon Fodder" in a League Two Coventry team derived of goals ? Please.

Give the lad a chance, he's 18, he's scoring, let's give him a go

Problem is more out fan base and how quickly they will likely turn on him and bemoan missed opportunities.

Look at McNulty just only 10 days ago he was gonna be the man to fire us towards promotion now the comments are he's not up to it and fluffs and scuffs his chances and categorised with Beavon and binned off after 4 games.

U23's football isn't a great measure tho it sure breeds confidence in a player, we've had many players come in on loan or do it in our own U23's that have scored a good amount in U23's football and it's not happened for them. Kwame Thomas has 3 in 3 games like Ponticelli and was binned off as shit in the few games people seen of him last year.

Also go back 12 months, George Thomas was scoring for fun and looking a real prospect in the U23's. He was thrust into the 1st team and was hammered as he missed chances and was labled shit and should be dropped/sent out on loan.

He took time to adapt to 1st team football yet our fan base was prepared to give him that, let's not do the same with Ponticelli in a side that again is lacking creativity currently.

Ponticelli is a natural goal scorer, at least get him in the squad

I am sure Robins sees him play regularly. I am sure he plays in training games with the senior pros. As some observe "he appears to be getting stronger and developing." I am sure he is being considered and will figure at some point this season. But timing can be important. Robins a striker himself I am sure knows what to look for.

You don't bring young players in with expectation weighing down on their shoulders as seems to be the case here

Thought Pontecilli looked sharp and energetic against Blackburn when he came on, just didn't have any service.

Just worried that if he doesn't score in his first few games he'll be slagged off and slated, when it could take him a while to find his feet.

Totally agree don't fuck the youngster up by expectations being to high and the fucking morons who slag off the poor sod if he makes a mistake

No instead wait until another club coming sniffing after he has a decent season in the U23s and we lose him without ever seeing how good he could have been....again.
