Shouldn't be playing at all IMO. International cricket in general needs scaling back. There's so much of it nobody views it as an event anymore.

There is too much I watch very little now if I miss it there's always another one and I never used to miss a match

so ben stokes arrested - Hales not playing - what has happened here. ??
Sounds like a punch up in a night club. Key question will be did Stokes start it or was someone having a pop at him.
England all-rounder Ben Stokes was arrested on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm after a nightclub incident in Bristol early on Monday.

He will not be available for England's fourth one-day international against West Indies on Wednesday, the England and Wales Cricket Board has announced.

Team-mate Alex Hales, who was with Stokes, will also miss the match and has returned to Bristol to help police.

Stokes was held overnight after the team's victory in the third ODI.

The team went 2-0 up in the best-of-five series with a 124-run victory on Sunday, in which Stokes made 73.

The 26-year-old Test vice-captain was arrested after an incident at about 02:35 BST at the city's Mbargo club which left another man needing hospital treatment for facial injuries.

I would have taken Wood before Overton and taken one less before taking Ballance he must be the team n barber excellent waiter as he surely can't play

Can see wickets a tumbling now as the run rate grows.

We were on top of it, but now it is starting to slip away a tad. Up to the plate steps Jos Buttler. Definitely has it in him to win this single handedly. But ........

Looks like England will win this just on D/L
(Buttler) Ali saving the day again, the bloke thrives on coming into situations with England on the back foot! (He should have a fun filled winter then!

How the hell we won that! Got to feel for the windies tonight
Don't like the D/L method at all. I know it's hard to find any system that really works, but last night I still had West Indies down as favourites. Just one more wicket would have changed everything.

A great shame it got rained off, it could have gone either way, but I'm sure it would have been an exciting finish.

Last years champs Middlesex relegated with the Bears, they were deducted 2 points for slow over rate in the abandoned game due to the stow being fired. The thing is as the game was heading to a draw they had planned on using spinners to bowl through the overs quickly which wouldn't have meant a points deduction. Be intersting to see if this rumbles on as they only went down by 1 point.

It's crazy that two teams that won the league in the last 5 years can get relegated!
Pre season odds
Yorkshire: 5/2

Middlesex: 3/1

Warwickshire: 5/1

Surrey: 5/1

Somerset: 5/1

Hampshire: 9/1

Lancashire: 16/1

Essex: 20/1

Essex won it undefeated at a canter, Lancs came 2nd, Middlesex & Warwickshire bottom 2 and relegated and Yorkshire stayed up by 2 points!

Who says the bookies are always right!

The problem with a small league is the turnover of teams is too great, I wonder what the odds are of Warwickshire being div 1 champion in two years time?

I think getting out of division 2 is a big enough task at present!

I don't think they should have any problems with a fully fit Stone and the rest of the attack and hopefully the batters can knuckle down next year, the new signings have brought a freshness to the squad and hopefully will flourish
