Yes it's a long season which is why I'd like to see those players get game time when we're 3-0 up at halftime at home to Crewe and the pressure is off rather than when Kelly pulls a hamstring after 15 minutes away at Luton and we have to throw Maycock on. :)

That would be ideal. We also have Ben Stevenson back. He is possibly the closest to Tony Andreu in style and scored a few goals last season

Why the pessimism ?
God some people

We just always get carried away after a few results, and the Crewe game is set up perfectly for a slightly bigger than normal crowd and we all know what happens usually under those circumstances.
Remember the last time we played Crewe expecting a win. I'm sorry but I just can't see us scoring any more than 72 goals. I'll be keeping my feet firmly on the ground for this one.

Way too optimistic, you're off your fucking head.

It'll be 72-1

I get nervous with these type of games as they usually end in a fuck up. Saying that reckon we'll win by a couple. Biamou to get one at last.
I am the opposite, Torch and am very confident.

Forget about the City historically or previous seasons, we are now League Two and clearly have a squad more than capable of achieving promotion. We have found a level we can clearly compete at.

We should go into every game confident.

Really looking forward to this weekend, my first game of the season, bus up tomorrow from Norfolk and staying at the Ricoh for 2 nights. Going to be a top weekend, if you see a shaved headed bearded fella (quite handsome......ish) that's me ! Come and say hello and I'll get you a pint !

I just want a win, any means, any score.
I've seen enough so far this season to know I'm not going to get much thrilling entertainment so I just want us to keep chalking up the points.
Hopefully the crowd will stay patient as I think we may have to work hard to break Crewe down.

The crowd seems to be behind the team a lot more than the start of the season. Maybe I'm just not stood near the same guy I was at Yeovil who was demanding we release Jones. Also, to be fair, Tuesday was really good entertainment.

sweet lord!! On the back of his performances against County and Grimsby as well, albeit he was poor against Newport the week before.

Release Jones as in release the hounds, perhaps.

To be fair, while it's still pretty low, the entertainment value has picked up a little the last few games.

As you say though, I imagine Crewe will come to park the bus, so we need to be patient and hope Robins has plans a - e.

Think once we go 3 up would be the perfect time to let pont run at them for 20-30 mins

Just been looking at our previous meetings and our forms a bit sketchy against Crewe at home in recent times.
We've only beaten Crewe once at the Ricoh winning our last home meeting 3-2 but before that we went 5 games unable to beat them drawing 2 and losing 3 in league and cup games. Prior to that we won 6 of the previous 7.

We did win our last meeting in the 4th tier 3-2 in 1959 tho

Some already said it. This could be a difficult encounter with a side beaten in their last 4 needing to stop the rot.
What we need is a good start with an early goal to settle the spirit. Then we will run out comfortable winners.
If it drags on we may have a frustrating afternoon with a bore draw.

Think we will be unchanged start xi again and I am risking daring to predict a 2-0 victory! PUSB
Is Chris Stokes fit to play then ? I've not heard anything !
