Missing woman still alive, claim carers

One of the more bizarre stories I've seen.

  • Not seen since 1999.
  • Not been to the doctor's in this time.
  • Apparently is a 'gangmaster' now despite needing care.
  • House has been condemned.
  • Did a runner just as the police came.
  • Woman carer ended up in dispute with parents over parents' £400k lottery win.
Just... wtf?

Hmmmm..... no-one has seen her since 1999, but only a year ago did anyone start looking for her?

Surely the state would have needed her to come in for an assessment re her disability at some point in all that time.

The finger seems to point at the carers doesn't it, though they did seem to think highly of her ('she was short, fat and dirty'). Obviously invisible too, because when the police called she must have walked straight past them.

Unless of course she IS a gangmaster!

I read this on the BBC yesterday. The police will struggle to find evidence after all this time. It's sad that someone can go missing for 16 years and nobody notices.

No-one is going to buy this bullshit story though are they. Think the carers are going o be under permanent suspicion for the rest of their lives.

I think from police quotes and the fact the property has been dug up they know full well who did it, it's just a case of finding out when and why and 16 years is a long time to dispose of evidence so I don't envy their job. You would have thought 16 years would have been enough time to come up with a plausible excuse however.

It's a particularly ludicrous one.

Maybe they're going for the plan that it's so bizarre, it can only be true!
Think the only excuses they haven't used are that she was stung to death by jellyfish and then abducted by aliens.

Are you sure the reporter hadn't been daydreaming of an old episode of Crossroads?
