Vik scored 1 in his first 12 games I heard on the way home

Played out wide for most of them to be fair.

Vik scored 7 in 10 once he'd signed permanently.

Negative starting line up at home. As soon as team sheet was out it was an obvious 0-0 and never going to be thrilling. Sakamoto and Wright need to start especially whilst they’ve played and deserved their spot.

Same in the first. The amount of times he was begging to be out through and we played it sidways it whatever. I do think some of our players have an issue with awareness. A few times I was watching and they’d never even look around when the ball was away from them.

One thing is for sure, the investment has been up front so we need to find a way to play to their strengths

We've looked most dangerous this season playing on the counter like we did last year, not sure we've got the personnel for the possession based game.

You can clearly see these players have the ability, and effort is there.
They just look slightly disjointed and scared to put the ball in the box.

Give it a few weeks and we’ll be fine

I think we have but surely they know they have to move the ball quicker ? At the moment we are just far too slow moving the ball and it completely kills attacks

We just look a bit disjointed atm , at times we do good things but we lack quality in the final 3rd both from wide and through the middle .. but even then I felt we had 2/3 really decent chances to win the game ..
I actually agree Eccles looked done by 65 and was getting sloppier and sloppier , the subs were imo probably incorrect at the time

Although I think a draw is a fair result I think sunderland will be happier .. it's still very early season and I'm comfortable with how we've started

Agree with this but still puzzled at a professional footballer being “done” after 65 mins

We have I just don’t think we know how to unlock defences yet. Hopefully Allen, O’Hare, Ayari and a CM will change that as the season goes on.

Wynch pressing Robins on the long throw and he doesn't seem keen on using them.
Not the impression I got at all-Robins made a quip about "keep it quiet" that's all, as in he wants it to be a secret weapon!

He looked like he was running on fumes , partly because we made silly passes in the final 3rd unnecessarily putting ourselves on the back foot being countered quick and he had to run 30 yards every 2 mins at one point

Yep that didn’t help but as your full time job I’d expect being fit as a gimme

We give up a lot of territory when Palmer plays because he just cannot sustain the intensity that O'Hare or Hamer can. I think that's fine if he delivers anything for us but he doesn't really, the odd great moment but lots of rash and badly executed ones too.

Possibly but he's got two long throws and has only just used it today. McCallum also had one and never utilised it.

McCallum used his a fair bit...seriously mate, listen to the interview again, you've got the wrong end of the stick.

Would like to go back to box and see ayari and Palmer together behind one of the strikers

It s ridiculous
It is, but a consequence of two unavoidable facts: firstly, we are missing Vik and he set an incredibly high bar; secondly, we spent a lot of money on both strikers, so there is expectation from that. But hopefully they'll grab a goal or two each and settle down/improve confidence.

EDIT: plus now also missing Hamer's creativity!
