just went on to you tube and type in fighting at crewe fc. surprise surprise there are a few vids up there and one of the quotes i read said "this trouble was started by the chanting of the crewe youth fans" somethings never change. oh and that was 2009. so this hooligan element is still going on 4 years later. thought they would of stopped it by now!!!!

Woah hang on I take it you thought I'd swallow this without checking. That video shows no fighting whatsover, it's just a section of Crewe fans chanting songs at Vale fans, there absolutely no violence in it. I challenge you to find me a video of Crewe fans engaging in public disorder at a football ground. Whereas if you look for Coventry videos (e.g derby protest) you will find serious public disorder e.g fans assaulting stewards and police. I defy you to find evidence of similar behaviour by Crewe fans.

It was all sour grapes to be honest. I'm sure you'll agree that you were given a footballing lesson for 90 minutes so you really had nothing to sing about and I can understand the frustration with you hoping you could turn it around.

I'm sorry - everything after this statement was tinged with the lack of credibility you gave yourself with the above - truly a pantomime of an analysis. The game at our place was one of the most one-sided embarrassments I've witnessed in a long time. Last night, we again bossed possession, had 14 shots to your 6; 3 times as many being on target. Our every attack forward was spurned by a series of hoof-balls, the like of which I've rarely seen played on a pitch with a rounded ball.

Make no mistake, you got through having been the inferior team on both occasions, by some considerable distance, but scored the goals and relied on a 'keepers performance at The Ricoh the like of which Gianluigi Buffon would have counted as a good day at the office.

I wish you well at wWembley and thank you for the fine pies; but please don't make your route there sound all Disneyesque - as it hasn't been all pretty nor convincing

Thanks for the well wishes, you're entitled to your opinion, it's not one I share. I thought you looked very limited last night, although you were stronger in the first leg.

this tie was just a story of 3 goalkeepers and nothing more. first up mr murphy: how can anybody get injured doing nothing at all, the way he did in the first leg. up next chris dunn mr murphys replacement. dunn by name dunn by nature and if murphy was still on we would be going wembley instead. and finally steve philips, if any premiership scouts watched the leg at the ricoh then he would be on his way in the summer. i have never ever seen such lucky goalkeeping in my life.

cafc83 steve davies is going round saying how crewe were in control. wrong, steve philps was and nobody else. saturday we will batter you again and if you enjoy watching the football you've played against us then god help then i can see why youve got a shitty little ground and no support

And in the second, according to both the BBC and my own eyes:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/21449195

They were great pies though; so I'll wish you again all the best for Wembley and hope the didistractions the cup game will give us the league win that two dominated cup games deserved ;)

I was merely pointing out that the content of the song appears to encourage and promote violence among your fans, suggestive of a culture of hooliganism. Furthermore, it would not be acceptable if Crewe fans responded to this chant with violence, which is entirely consistent wiith my earlier argument.

It's not just football, we are bought up knowing how to defend ourselves. Don't go looking for trouble, but if it finds us, we can handle it. Your small town syndrome brain may not comprehend this. That is the meaning behind the fight, fight song.

Don't go to that many away games now, getting too old. But as a 70s and 80s supporter there was nothing last night to come anywhere near those days, got off the coach by the away end and there were about a 100 Crewe chanting trying to look tough with a couple of coppers for company they took a look at the overweight grey haired group on our bus laughing at them and sheepishly looked the other way. There will always be incidents at football especially do or die games like last night but the brainless do it not thinking of the old bill who are filming everywhere they have a squad, well West Midlands have who fine tooth comb the footages and act on any incident they can proove, could be in a months time, the idiot who threw the bottle at the referee i am certain will be looked for and modern technology will find him or her. As for the Crewe twat who threw the flair i doubt there will be any Wembley day out for him. Three years football banning order for him.

The one on the corner? It was pretty much empty when we were in there, no cov fans, and my other mates didn't get in so we moved on to that 7 place.

Unless I'm mental.

Spot on, hope so, wouldn't bank on the technology at Gresty road being up to much though!

You are thinking of the Corner Bar. It has a different name. It is not called The Express.

...your captain, Luke Murphy is a very good player. Has there been interest for him from other clubs?

Yes, he's probably off to Villa at the end of the season, anywhere but Stoke who are also interested. He's the standout talent at the minute but there are others with good potential too. It surprises me that your fans generally don't seem to think we played any good football last night. Agreed there were short periods in the game when we were under pressure and overplayed the long ball but those periods were not representative of the game as a whole by any means. There were long periods where we controlled the game, played some lovely passing football and you struggled to regain possession. We also restricted you to half chances until after the 90 minutes. I didn't have any anxiety that you would get back in the game and that sense was reflected in the demeanour of your fans, you were pretty glum and quiet throughout the second half.

That's it! That might also explain why my mates didn't turn up.

We were in the express from about 2.30 and a great atmosphere ensued ALL day. Their youth firm or 'anthill mob' were being twats and offering Coventry fans out for a rumble. They were soon on their toes though when a few cov fans offered to accommodate. By all accounts, The express is a Crewe fans pub but it was taken over good and proper yesterday. I think the staff there were wonderful and a few of the Crewe fans that did venture into the Express were really nice blokes.

I'm sure you'll agree that you were given a footballing lesson for 90 minutes so you really had nothing to sing about and I can understand the frustration with you hoping you could turn it around. That amid the backdrop of Robins leaving and the stadium and everything it was not a suprise that tensions were running high. But the disorder had started from Cov fans long before the trouble at the railway end (the referee had a bottle thrown at him, narrowly missing, in the first half). The level of intoxication of a substantial number of your fans was evident before kick off. The stuff inside the ground was largely posturing anyway (isn't it always). But outside the ground at the end of the game was a different matter, really disgusting scenes with 40 odd year blokes brutally attacking teenage Crewe fans for singing about going to Wembley. Terrible behaviour and these people do not belong at football matches they belong in prison. Unfortunately these types seem to be quite well represented among your fans and they are tarnishing the reputation of your great club.

A footballing lesson....? In what way? Stats, style of play, clear cut chances?

If The Crewe youth firm feel that their big enough and hard enough to have a go, then no one should pity them by saying 'Men versus Boys'. If they want to play lumberjack, they must know how to carry the log.

Also if their parents aren't able to stop them from becoming hooligans, then maybe a good hiding from an opposing fan might be the catalyst that opens their eyes to the futileness of hooliganism and football violence.

You were given a lesson on how to win a two legged Football match. Now that's a fact. See you on Saturday.

Ps. I fail to see how you can defend your fans giving people a kicking. Now, I couldn't give a fuck if someone got beat up, nothing to do with me. However, you all seem to be weirdly proud of the actions of your fans. Is that accurate?

And before people say it isn't accurate, go back and read the thread. You are all defending their actions.

"A footballing lesson" implies that you dominated us by playing quality football throughout both legs...neither of which is true
