Still half our wage bill. For a club dancing on the line of breakeven with no long term home, I'll take that.

Are they Joy's words I'll take that? It will be in the Cayman Islands the minute it hits the ccfc account.

Hopefully will turn out to be not too serious. Sounds like they spent a while giving him treatment before stretchering him off which can't be a good sign.

7 goals in 8 games for Bury and some said he was finished....

I have 2 charity bets on here with posters that said he won't score goals.

Nearly half way to the 15 goals you said he wouldn't score Grendel

Two are in the cup which I had to concede although I knew that was going to change the odds massively in your favour. One a penalty, one a goal chosen for him and one with the last kick of a game.

Far from finished.Reckon (barring injury) we could get at least 2 more seasons from him.

In the league he has scored 3 excluding pens - it's not prolific and history says you'll never be getting two more seasons from Clarke. In fact when he's reached double figures before January he normally has left.

I meant if he wanted to stay with us.

Bending the truth again I see.

You was worried about Bury getting poor opponents in a cup so I said any club they played in any division below Bury wouldn't count in his goals. You made such a fuss about it. You were saying he is past his best. Still a very good striker for our level.

The bet was decided on game one. Normally the goalkeeper is nominated to score those goals.

I never thought about penalties to be honest.

His league contribution will not be that great. Double figures at best.

I am not sure, I don't like Clarke but he really is top drawer at this level.

His contribution so far has been nothing like for us or Scunthorpe - with or without him though Bury will have a reasonable season. Like Gillingham they have put funds in above their natural level.

One things for sure if Clarke does score a few more he will be getting his agent to secure yet another pay day - always a struggling championship club there to take him on.

7 goals in 8 games.

If penalties are easy to score what is our record on scoring them since he left us?

League games? Three goals in outfield play is average by October.

Oh and I assume you know about goal number one don't you? Even you must accept that's a goal in name only.

So you are now trying to discredit all his goals :D

What does it take for you to admit that you might be wrong?

He does score goals (although todays penalty decision was pathetic) but he is a disruptive cock in the dressing room. I guess Mowbray wasnt interested in that type of player.

When Clarke is happy I get the feeling that he is actually very good in the dressing room, puts his arm around the young lads and bring a calmness and experience to the dressing room. However when he is unhappy he throws his toys out of the pram and brings that negativity into the dressing room with him.

I'm not discrediting anything - I'm just saying 3 goals in outfield play in the league isn't prolific.

You credited Wilson's game improvement on him. You said without Clarke he wouldn't score. So you know his game is more than just scoring. Or did half a team of CCFC rejects beat us because of the other players?

Well having seen the penalty decision they beat us due to a poor decision regarding the penalty.

I agree. But it would be nice if once every few years you admitted you might be wrong about something instead of looking for an excuse ;)

Clarke is good player who I would have taken back in the summer he will score more than 20 this season, yes probably a bit hard to manage but many of the better players are and TM could have handled him.

We all know that he is a very good striker for our present level. But very average at best in the Championship. Bury offered him a long contract for a 30 year old player. If they get promoted they will need someone better if they want to compete. And he will still have a couple of years left on his contract.

I would have liked to have had him back. But not on the terms he got at Bury.

True he won't be able to make the step up, how long did he get I can't remember surely not 3 years
