From the last two league games it's clear to see that Jordan Willis has the credentials to be the best defender in this division. He obviously has power, pace and an aggressive edge which means he wins most challenges. Genuinely think that if he can stay fit for the whole of the season he will develop further into a strong asset (obviously then we sell him on).

IF he stays fit I really think it could be his year! I'm a big fan of his and didn't realise how quick he was till yesterday when he smoked that player in a race back

Gone in Jan, along with Stevenson. Funds received to be used on loan players. I'm such a happy chappy!

That sort of defender is usually sold for a lot of money. How many teams in the championship would want a defender with that sort of pace? I actually think the time he spent at RB has helped his development. In terms of our defence he fits perfectly playing RCB, if we can bring in a strong no nonsense CB who can win headers and organise the young defenders we could be in for a good year defensively. The next problem is finding where the goals are coming from at the other end.

As a bit more of a general point, I think it's hilarious how panicky our fans get and how little they actually know. Everyone was saying we were going to get hammered in our first games as we had a pathetic defense. Now everyone's raving about how solid it is and how screwed we are up front hahaha

I'm quite excited about Jordan developing into a solid player for us.
Totally agree with previous comments on him.
In fact I thought him and Harries were good on Saturday and Ricketts was the weaker of the three.
They both will need a good leader in between them to organise the defence though, Ben Turner would have been ideal really.

I just think if you look how we played in our first 3 games, if Mowbray brings in the 5/6 players he wanted (even if on loan) our squad could be very strong, as the youngsters look more than comfortable to fill in if needed. Just don't want them all on the pitch at once.

I ve never rated him at all . I think he s a poor header of a ball who does nt read the game well and at this stage needs an experienced head to drag him into position.
I do nt see the pace either, he s not slow but he s certainly not pacey. His distribution is also poor. However, on Saturday he had a good game and for once impressed me.
Hes injury prone though and it would be great to see him progress with a full season. I d be more than happy to sell him to keep Harries.

Totally agree but the last bit although maybe said in jest is the sad sad truth about the Muppets who mismanage OUR CLUB

You lost me at "I don't see the pace".

Good player Jordan Willis and a centre back. Saw him playing that position two seasons ago in our 2-0 win at Walsall when he was excellent, the clown Steve Pressley never played him there again !

I think we need to not get too carried away. Willis and Harries have been receiving praise, but we are yet to meet a potent strike force.

Let's see how our defence fares once we come up against top forwards in this division.

Anyone who says our defence is solid has not been to the games
