If Wasps publicly declared they wanted to buy CCFC (1 Viewer)

Depends what their plans were.

Keep us as CCFC the same for ever then I would still go to watch the team as I do now.

Wasps FC etc then no.

I wouldn't go out of my way to beg for it, just saying IF it happened.

I support the football team irrespective of ownership, after SISU's false dawn I would be cautious about getting too excited but with WAPS moving to the Ricoh they have had a clear strategy and vision something we have been missing since 2009.

I doubt for one minute Wasps will buy ccfc, doubt if they are able to, however they or their owners might know someone who would and work hand in glove with them.

If we keep the name and the shirt colour and detail a clear vision for the club, then reluctantly yes. It may be swapping 1 immoral hege fund for another but at least one is currently putting an effort into matchday experience.

Why would they? They can't afford to repay their own bond issue, never mind funding CCFC's operating losses of millions of pounds a year.

Wasps won't buy us anyway, football clubs are money pits and they haven't got thr cash to fund losses, invest in promotion whilst sharing ricoh revenues between acl, wasps rugby, us as well as managing thr interest and debt on the bonds.

Its not going to happen.

Wasps aren't going to buy CCFC, you can knock that one on the head.

But there are people out there waiting in the wings ready to run the club, but none of them will buy the club for anything more than a £1.

You'll get over it.

Mate, you're in bed with Wasps because they make you a few bob. Your opinion is bought and paid for, get over it yourself.

I don't want the club in the hands of another bunch of shysters who had to take out a £35m bond to kick-start their franchise here.

We've had enough of people gambling with our future and we've seen how much Wasps 'care' for the club with their actions since taking over the Ricoh and then the Academy. Move on.

No, their focus isn't football. CCFC owners must be football fans not egg chasers.

Meanwhile we all sit and clap while the football club gets distressed for that to happen right?

No you sit and clap, I don't attend games and that's my way of demonstrating that I've had enough.

I can't possible predict what is going to happen in the future, all I know is nothing good will happen to this football club while they are in charge.

Like you did NOPM last time until we started winning?

The point being, you are saying people only want to pay £1, which is an explanation for Wasps / CCC etc distressing CCFC.

absolutely.and they were already £20 million in dept to the hedge fund beforehand..wasps are in no better position than ccfc except they have the cashflow from the bond share..which still has to be repaid

Yes.

Not ideal but infinitely preferable.

Firstly, why would Wasps seek to move a football club from a home where it needs to be?

Secondly, yes they are a hedge fund, but they've demonstrated a vital characteristic involved in running a sports club since arriving that Sisu have failed miserably to do and that is competence.

Not sure it will happen though.

They were only worth £1 when SISU took them over, they are still only worth £1. Nothing to do with distressing.

That's nonsense, Wasps may have substantial debt as do CCFC but they also have a much larger turnover, they also still have a significant sum in hand from that bond issue & their owner will probably be prepared to stump up (upto) £10M temporarily to cover any shortfall (as he has done in the past).

There is no doubt that CCFC are in a far more perilous situation.

* Wasps £21.4M turnover £2.4M losses (accounts Apr 2016)
* CCFC £4.4M turnover, £1.9M losses (accounts Mar 2016)

Why the use of the present tense? We've been in that situation for the last 6 years.

Yes 100%

We need rid of sisu at any cost. They are bad because they alienate the fans and move the club from its home and are a faceless hedge fund that only cares about profit. We need this club to be in the good hands of a faceless hedge fund that only cares about profit and will move the club and alienate fans.

Have a word

And a stadium to play for another 248 years vs 18 months.

How are you defining competence? Do you mean the economically driven move from their historic home?

It very much remains to be seen whether they will be judged competent. There is a long long way to go for Wasps, the signs seem good but we don't know enough about them to judge them as competent.
