Well, the site owner wants more footy themed so... let's pack it all together ;)

First game been to for a fair while - whether that reflects on me, my failing interest, my laziness or the club's ineptitude, I leave open for people to decide...

Glad to see pictures of what looks like crowds at the protest, an empty protest would have been a disaster. Logistics meant I didn't go, but sure I wasn't missed ;)

You'd never know inside the ground there was a boycott. A pretty empty ground is a pretty empty ground regardless! Can we stop using 'boycott' as a protest weapon please, and look at what actually is visible and says passion rather than apathy?

Game. Terrible first ten minutes, came into it a bit, McCann's injury may have been a blessing in disguise as we picked up a bit after that. Lucky to be ahead at half time. Second half pretty similar! Still, a win's a win.

If I was Rochdale I'd have been upset, they looked organised and committed, not sure we had much of a shape and we were slow off theblocks in both halves. The midfielders all played in the same section of the pitch which didn't help, no idea why Sordell was out wide and he looked totally lost. Nice bit of skill by Lameiras for the goal, but he too looked lost until the last 20 minutes when space started becoming available - he strikes me as the kind of player who'd flourish in a better side, or the level above, ironically, when he might have a bit more space. He was about the only one of our players showing for the ball at throw-ins however, and not jogging off into the distance! Surely we work at actually moving so we get the ball under less pressure?!? I thought Stevenson was a bit quiet myself, Bigi the best of our midfielders today.

Willis slid as a rock, Turnbull good too. For all Rochdale's possession they didn't have many actual chances. Actually thought Burge had a solid game. One great save from a corner that wouldn't have counted anyway, but generally caught everything he had to. His kicking needs work from someone other than Oggy however!

Agyei busy but guess not fit, Reid offers a threat at least.

Would I give Venus the job on the back of that? Probably not tbh, we didn't look overly well drilled and there didn't seem much willingness to change it about.

But... a win's a win, and we've had a few of them now.

Agree with it all except thw bit about MV getting the job. 4 wins in 5 when we hadn't won a league game for 10 odd games is a very good turnaround.

I think that is Agyei's game, one minute he seems to be rapid and the other it is like he has lead boots on.

It was so much different to midweek where we absolutely bossed the midfield. No idea if that was to do with McCann going off or if it was them kicking anything that moved!

The wins where we don't deserve it are the best ones :)

Before McCann went off we were even worse though!

Oh, and the record under Venus is good (but most managers get a bounce when first in - hell, Thorn seemed set fair when he took over from Bothroyd), but I'd chalk today's win down as a win despite the manager, not because of him.

I was surprised he didn't bring Rose on for McCann, but it just depends on his fitness.

Reid offered more of a threat than most though and stetched their defence. Sure, Rose seems to be more box-to-box than what we started with, but the horror of Stevenson, Bigi, and McCann all standing in the same bit of pitch a third of the way away from our goal is enough to break me out in a cold sweat.

Oh yeah, we didn't do it *too* much thank the Lord, but totally baffled whenever we hoofed it to... Lameiras? Reminded me of the season Strachan took us down, Hedman spent half the time booting it to Bellamy, as if he was ever going to win a header!

Yeah, especially when he clearly knows he won't win the header so he gets around the back and tries to nudge them or pull their shirt.

I think it did work a couple of times though.

I think Rochdale showed what TM Says about men v boys. They bossed most of the match. They played a few nice midfield interchanges, but otherwise were getting right in our teams faces, winning the ball, and punting up to their big men. But, our "boys" fought really well and restricted them to few chances. Very pleased with the win.

We've not really had much of a bounce with most appointments over the last few years. Slight improvement but not 4 wins in 5.

One thing that would really support the boycott protest is a bit of contrast. So what we really need to ram the message home about the discontent with SISU is now A Turn Up Game.

Yes I know we have been so unsuccessful there has been a very slow erosion of faith. So we now have to underline the club's potential. We want to be successful, this is the fan base, a message to SISU's investors and potential buyers/investors.

Before that happens, people will need to see they aren't handing their ticket money to joys purse.

There was a guy on social media the other day who was asking if ticket money goes straight to sisu.

Until then, people won't go in.

Being anti SISU Joys purse has nothing to do with it for one game. It is about contrast, you can either have this or you can have that. It is about calling SISU out and seeing, what they want and what they are not bothered with. If they don't listen after a well supported Attend Protest then the fans could safely boycott boycott boycott

Exactly. 4 wins from 5 yet we don't have to give him permanent job because we still don't know if he was real deal. Temp till January is a good idea

Except potentially a manager starts in January with no time to assess the squad. It could mean if it is January they miss all or part of the transfer window. Why not end of November isn't that time enough?

I agree with the logic, but we've done it with the Gillingham, Crewe(In the pisspot) They don't give a fat one.

January will be the big test. I'm certain Venus will be in charge and should with his scouting head on and skills know exactly who and what to bring in, will be interesting if he is allowed to. We have a number of players coming out of their loan periods too McCann being one, so we could have a very different team in the New Year
