Does anyone else get the feeling? (1 Viewer)

That there is something going on behind the scenes? For example, why wasn't a new manager appointed when TM left? The fact that Venus has still not resigned after five successive defeats? In today's post match comments MV slagged off the club - and he is a Director! There are rumours and more rumours which surely have foundation considering the above. Why wait until January I wonder?

If there is nothing happening then we are truly f00ked osb. If there is something afoot it is brilliantly being kept quiet, to me that's a concern. I think our disastrous form lately and the manager situation might tell us something sooner rather than later we all know a new manager is expensive they bring their own people in which will cost and will command I would think a minimum 3 year contract, we know sisu operate shortism when it comes to contracts so I'll watch this space on that one.

I'm hoping the silence is because SISU are exiting the building... And they've got a replacement they are handing over to.

Totally agree, if we truly are on our own, then it's surely just a matter of time until
We reach the end of the road.

Just possibly It has finally dawned on SISU that they will not get any money out. They will have to give the club away.

Sadly they're going to sell off Ryton before they go.

I can't help but feel that these rumours are coming directly from the owners through the club. I'm not suggesting that anyone who has been announcing them on here or indeed their source from within the club have been making them up. More a case of a well known conduit for rumours that quite often come to fruition is being played for the purpose of misdirection.

I can't help but feel that something is happening behind the scenes but it ain't the positive news we've all been waiting and hoping for but the distraction is required for a long enough period to get things in place so they can become an unstoppable force that the club won't recover from.

We need to start looking past these positive rumours. Not so much a case of they seem to good to be true, more a case of they seem to convenient to be true.

There's a shit storm coming. A shit storm so big that despite the shit storm we're already in it will feel like we're only just entering a shit storm for the first time. I can feel it in my bones and it makes me feel very uneasy.

Might as well cover all bases. SISU is capable of this. The Woodlands School thing coincides nicely with SISU needing a new base before selling Ryton. Would it be a peppercorn rent?

One of the things that happens when there is no regular feedback from the club is that fans start to speculate and this leads to events taking on a life of their own. The only thing that is certain is that on the pitch we are as poor as we are in the boardroom and that unless there is a change in direction we will be in Division 4 soon enough.

These are my thoughts:

"something going on behind the scenes?"
Yes. It' big. SISU are preparing an exit. It will be a scorched-earth policy with the training ground being sold and anything else they can find value in.
I'd suggest that JS is dealing with huge reputational damage with lost court cases et al and failure to have any viable plan for Coventry City since buying the club.
SISU suffered huge losses (and their income derives from how well the funds are doing) and has moved from prime London locations into much cheaper location. She's not only got CCFC to deal with but is fighting a very considerable rear guard action regarding the fund and her own reputation which may be damaged beyond repair.
Relegation this season is irrelevant to their strategy as was relegation from the championship which was used to distress ACL.

"why wasn't a new manager appointed when TM left?"
No money. If MV does the job they save cash.

"The fact that Venus has still not resigned after five successive defeats?"
Why would he? Resigns - he gets nothing. Sacked - he gets a pay-off.
Don't resign when things get rough (this applies to everyone). If a company wants rid of you they have to pay. Football is no different.

"In today's post match comments MV slagged off the club - and he is a Director! "
He has just confirmed what we all know. I suspect the budget is far from generous (one of the lowest in League 1) and that's why we play so many cheap youngsters and have few experienced professionals. If they are under spent to budget the funds will be lost and not rolled up for January.
We all need to look at what the club is doing and not what it is saying.

"Why wait until January I wonder?"
No money.

Totally agree. Everything is pointing to sisu doing a runner within the next 18 months.
On top of what you have raised I would add
one last effort this season to squeeze as much money out of the clubs fans by increased st prices and false promises.

No investement in the playing side and a distinct lack of comunication with the fans

The proposed asset stripping of ryton, playing staff and management

No comunication or effort to sort the ricoh ground issue. We wont have any where to play in 18 months time

I said all this 6 months ago and was shot down by the usual suspects on here. Well it looks like we are several steps nearer to sisu walking away and doing what they do best asset stripping.
The club will have no ground, no training facilities, no academy and no playing squad when they do and they wont give a shit

Why would Venus get a pay off if he gets sacked? I thought he was an interim manager and therefore doesn't have a contract- correct me if I'm wrong.

Yeah, how can he be sacked? He's on the board. He's only filling in, in the role of manager.

No managerial contract to pay off surely.

He wouldn't be sacked if he just reverted to his original job...

Exactly. Seeing as he's the technical director he would be sacking himself anyway.

I think it is unfair for people to go on about him being registered as a director of a building company. There is no evidence of that having anything to do with Ryton. Pure speculation there. He joined the board, apparently, to learn about the finances behind the team. He says the club needs new players, but is in a sorry state. He should know.

That says it all. Something has to give soon.

I don't think the performance on the pitch even registers - not a priority at all. If something leads to an exit it will be as Prefect says: sell up everything and exit stage left - not performances.

martcov

Well... no.

He wouldn't be the first person in the world to take on additional responsibilities, an then find their entire job redundant due to underperformance.

I meant as interim manager. But he could well be asked to resign from the board. I personally think he will walk like Mowbray and Anderesen and the Commercial Director. Why put up with this pressure and carry the can for some things which are out of his control? Some things are under his control of course.

Otis

By being told he is no longer required at the club.
Not from the manager's position though, as has been suggested.

Yeah, sacked from the club, but not from the manager's position. He wouldn't surely have any kind of contract for the manager position.

Why would they bother? You don't "have a feeling", you've just picked up the same hint from a few others on here
