I have now watched George Thomas on quite a few occasions and come to the conclusion that if we manage to keep him he will become a current day favourite . His work ethic on the pitch is quite something else, he is a work horse and will easily chip in 10 goals a season but it's his work off the ball thats going to give us an edge in the coming games he certainly keeps the opposition defenders on their toes and does not allow them to settle at all during the match. He is now building the right physique to do the job. Just my opinion that all

I have really liked him these past two games. Great movement, a bit of pace about him, two good feet, nice touch.

He reminds me so much of McSheffrey, though seems to not quite have McSheffrey's goal poaching ability.

Deserves to keep his place in the team I would say.

I said early season after his run of poor games that he needed to go out on loan to a league 2 team, but he is currently one of the best players in the team

Before the last 2 games what was his game time like? I think if persevered with, he has tremendous up side.

i like him although he is not the best finisher (but neither are the loans we brought in)..could never understand bringing in young loan players who are no better than what we already had..i am glad he is taking his chance, Russell Slade was really complementary about him the other night..Good for him

I think Slade sees similarities between him and Beavon and will hope that he learns from him.

If he gets a run in the side I'm convinced he'll start to score like he did in the u21s, there's more to him than we have seen yet

I haven't seen very much of him being abroad, but from what I have, I always thought he lacked a bit of confidence or the feeling he belonged in the team. Can weigh heavy on a youngster who has scored plenty of U21 goals to come into the first team for a few minutes here and there and not score. Think a couple of league goals would do him absolute wonders and that Slade is just the person to instill him with that confidence.

I like the lad but I'd still prefer someone more experienced to play alongside Beavon with Thomas on the bench and Tudgay binned.

I have been critical of him this season, perhaps somewhat harshly but I hold my hands up and must admit that in the past couple of games I have been impressed. The SBA love a player that gives his all for the shirt even if not blessed with the best of ability. Fair play to him, let's hope he continues improving and gets us out of this mess. If we manage to find a bit of form collectively, it will do his confidence no end of good.

Great idea of Slades to play him wider takes the pressure off him about scoring goals but early season form was he battled well but nothing really came off for him and then he just looked dejected so hopefully it's his time now

I thought he looked to weak physically and mentally earlier in the season, as did most of the team. He's come back in and looks a lot stronger and better mentally prepared now.

He's a different player to the start of the season, at the start he was too bulky up top whether he had been overdoing the upper body but he looked too sluggish to react. After he has come back he looks different physically, a lot quicker and reactive as well.

caused the sheff utd centre pairing some problems with his aggression and they're a right pair of units.

Looked a completely different player when he played against Bolton his work rate was terrific, hopefully he starts tomorrow

Early season I thought he was too slow, but I've been impressed with his last few performances. He does more off the ball than anyone else, getting into positions to receive the ball or taking defenders away.
Too many of our young lads have skills but don't seem to understand some of the basics

I think George is one of the most intelligent players to come through the academy, his run across the near post for his goal on Tuesday suggests that he has the nous to score 10 to 15 a season. I like him as a player and am quite pleased he has taken time to settle into the first team set up, as it means we might get to see him in a sky blue shirt for a bit longer.

Up to now I’ve always thought he had decent ability, but lacked physical presence. I was amazed and delighted by his never-say-die performance against Bolton in a role I didn’t think he could play. When someone buzzes around like that all match, I'm always drawn into the game more as a supporter. Long may it continue.
