Funny that, the crowd for that game in total was probably less than the 15K who went to Sheffield for the quarter final what a week or two later?
Edit: 12878 gate on 7th March. 48005 gate on 14th March of which 15K were City! In fairness the weather probably had a big part to play...

Back in the day when you could buy the kit from Earlsdon Sports Supplies. Remember that like it was yesterday. My 10th birthday and i was buzzing, feel sorry for the young fans these days who have always had to watch a club in free fall and never the games like the blackburn one. Lets hope this consortium story has legs.. PUSB

Seen some great games in wintry conditions. Floodlights on in the afternoon,orange ball,Soupy Sam selling hot drinks,and piles of snow on the side of the pitch. But for older fans remember Ian StJohn playing for Liverpool at Highfield Road and knocking out Brian Lewis with a left hook ? My dad said it was the best punch he'd seen at a game !

I remember taking my younger cousin who was about 6 at the time to this one. We were bottom or very near the bottom at the time and just battered them. It stopped him even thinking about Man U or Liverpool as the team to support.

Lars Bohinen was taken off cause he couldn't see the orange ball, I think he was later diagnosed as being colour blind

I have that trouble with the orange one. God knows how I manage to play cricket. An Aussie cricketer can't play day night test matches as they use a pink ball which he can't see.

Bugger me - that's why I'm useless at cricket (despite really enjoying playing). I'm slightly colour blind. I always thought it was 'cos I have sod-all coordination and don't much like getting hit by the ball.

I went to the AFC Wimbledon away game in the FA cup a few years ago and could barely see that pink ball they used.

the coldest I have ever been at a football game. Snow blowing straight into the west end and if you didn't move it settled on you. Never forgive that horrible c**t megson for what he did that day.

It was more of a skin pigmentation thing. I don't think one player has left such a big impression on me in one game as he did that day. He was terrific.

I can remember a game at HR v Sheff Utd being abandoned due to snow with them leading 2-0 well into the game. Think we managed to win the re-arranged game 3-2 :happy:

God I remember that like it was yesterday. Blackburn were champions at the time weren't they?
We'd been on an awful run of form and my Dad, who took me to the games, decided he'd had enough was going to go Christmas shopping. He told Bryan Richardson this before the game and Richardson said "the form we are on, if we win I'll buy your Christmas shopping every week" or something along those lines.
Took my Blackburn supporting mate and the rest is history. Richardson never did buy our shopping

Bloody hell good memory. We were terrible in the first game but I didn't go when we played them again. Wasn't Dennison unbeaten in 6 or 7 games as caretaker?

I guess nowadays that game in the snow would'nt be played - maybe the new type pitches would never get that way - but probably be cancelled due to health and safety - PC bollox - was at the Blackburn game - a team of characters - the sheffield kit in the second clip looked a bit the same as ours !

I do remember the replayed game was a midweek night in the spring with the weather a complete contrast to that when the first game was abandoned. I also remember United had a good team with players like Tony Currie and Len Badger playing for them. I can't remember Dennisson's record but I do know that the " M. Men,Mercer and Milne came in in the close season and the football became as exciting under them as it had been dour under Cantwell.
