And what is the acreage of the Butts, anyone know?

Right, well the reason I ask has nothing to do with the Butts, other than as a comparison.

I mentioned this piece of land before. It is next door to the fire station on Radford Road. Used to be a British Gas place if I recall correctly. Between the Holyhead Road and Radford Road junctions of the ring road. Same side of the road as the fire station, so sort of opposite Wickes.

The land is now up for sale. Sign up today. 5.52 acres.

Before anybody starts, Im by no means saying these places will be 100% where a stadium is. I am just randomly using that tool.

There's so much empty land down the side of the A46 towards TGIs too.

Just looked at that space, the old Mario building?

just a FYI Aberdeen have submitted plans for a 20,000 seater stadium and attached academy / training total cost is £40m with about £10m seemingly allocated on the training facilities.

Plans in for £40m Aberdeen FC stadium | Construction Enquirer

Given that its a clear site n that its not in somewhere like the Butts the construction costs will be less plus I would assume that land prices would certainly be less in Aberdeen as the housing pressures are not as great (I do know its an oil area).

So CCFC / SISU or whoever will be most likely looking at the sharp end of £30m + for a similar arrangement. Mr Fisher better start saving his pocket money.

we could play "Wembley" then you only need 1 goal
and with Sisu arranging the destruction of our fan base, maybe a bench to watch for anybody left
so basically any space about 20m square

Would be tricky due to the shape of the site rather than the total size. I have a feeling that there's something on site that needs to stay there as well.

Thats a good shout for a potential new ground - not sure what's happening to the old fire station plot but proximity to city centre and railway station is great could help regenerate the canal basin also

And you believe him?????????????

Dollars to doughnuts Fisher looked around and found out the biggest possible site was 59 acres.

I don't see why you need 60 acres, but then I can't see the "massive room to expand" at the Butts either.

I maintain we knock down half the city centre, it's about the only regeneration plan that's likely to succeed. Failing that, Warwick Uni.

Anyone know how big HR was? That's got to be close to as small as you could go.

Gigg Lane is 4.59 acres But obviously that's in a perfect rectangle.

Meadow Lane (20k) is about 5.75 acres.

Best I can get in a rectangle on the site Otis is on about is about 3 acres.

Not the best shape for sure. Nice place for the academy though.

That
Fisher always said minimum 60 acres
That was to include a training base and Academy as well as commercial outlets as i recall.
Hardly going to find that in Coventry.
And I believe that the commercial outlets are essential if they want a developer to pay for it.,

Would be looking a 7/8 acres atleast. Hard finding within a reasonable distance. Speedway would been ideal if it wasn't so far out of the City Centre.
