i'd love nothing more than for the stripey c**t franchise to fail, bondholders to lose their cash & then the ricoh become available for a song in a fire sale.....
.
It wouldn't end there though. We know Sisu wanted any long term deals with ACL finished first.
In that respect if Wasps leave it's back to Northampton first.

They are averaging about 15,000 for a top premiership, later stages of the European cup team, not near capacity crowds.
Not bad for only being here 2 years though ?
We need to get through this and get a deal with them. It's a win win for both teams.

When the novelty factor wears off and the team isn't winning will the crowds still be there? I'm not so sure.

Crowds will always change with success.
Just enjoy what you like when you can.
Life's to short to worry about others just because we are going through a bad period ourselves.

The front lawn was empty and looked derelict at the time though....

Maybe so, but that front lawn was 'owned' by a city of 300,000 people, many of which loved it, but weren't allowed to do anything to save it.

No matter how bad all parties have been in all this, Sisu, the council for helping to make the supporters be the victims by helping Wasps etc; what Wasps did was morally wrong. To their own supporters, and to us, the long suffering, ever committed football fans, who did absolutely fucking nothing wrong.

I'll never, ever go and see a Wasps game, and I cannot understand why anyone else who classes themselves as a CCFC fan would either...

You are quite literally insane.

I assume you have no arguments about any of the points raised and that's why you resort to pathetic insults about someone's job 20 years ago.

I'd explain things like why the council built a swimming pool after massive public outcry to you, but I'm not sure I have enough crayons.
Yes the" I am on more money then anyone else on here therefore I am God" senior Jag Exec has to reply with person insults on someone's family because yet again he has been caught out talking shit

Will put crowds be the same next season if we are religated.
And will they then stay the same if we manage a promotion one day.

So SISU waited till ACL failed so they could pick it up for a song, that certainly went well. Now their waiting till wasps fail so they can pick it up for a song, good luck with that strategy I'm sure it will work.

You may be right, but Wasps are working VERY hard at community engagement with school visits, links to the community rugby clubs, etc to create a new fan base.....and as previously said the progress in their crowds over two years is significant. The next level of growth [if any...] will not be a linear improvement, but could ensure their financial security. This allied to diversification with netball, etc. I think predications of their financial demise are premature.

I would never go to a Wasps game because it just doesn't interest me.
Me going or not going due to my status as a Cov fan is completely irrelevant.

They are very good at positive PR and community fan base building it seems.

It helps when the recipients of any PR don't cynically write it off like CCFC fans so with CCFC. I saw a facebook post the other day about CCFC being involved with the capital of culture bid for the city (which is good). Loads of brainless pricks were complaining about it and making banal comments.

I have not seen the post but will CCFC still exist or be in Coventry when the Capital of Culture time arrives?

Yes, Wasps and ACL were in there ages ago. To carry the name Coventry and not be interested in backing the city of Coventry whilst Wasps who have had little to with the history do so, would be grounds for moaning.

What are they doing?

That is a good question. They don't have the funds like ACL and Wasps. Maybe more through free advertising space somewhere? I can't see them sacrificing, say, 400000 to back the City instead of signing a player. Maybe it helps sell the idea to the judges just by a professional sporting club being on the list of supporters.

People are cynically writing of what comes out of the club? Seriously, have you been living in a cave the past nine years? The truth is wether you want to admit it or not the club has earned and worked hard under the current owners and useless board member after useless board member to be treated with such cynicism. To put it back on the fan base is pretty pathetic to be honest.

If they then do something which could start bridge building ( could be useful if new owners come ), then we knock it down? As fans we should back them on this.

I'm not even sure what that's supposed to mean to be honest. It stopped being logical the moment you suggested that bridge building might happen under SISU's watch. Either way it still doesn't detract from the point that the cynicism surrounding the club has been earned by 9+ years of half truths, false dawns, deliberate misdirection, deliberately being decisive and out and out BS we've had to put up with as fans.

Frankly you'd be an idiot not to be cynical and an even bigger one to suggest that this is somehow a reflection on the fanbase and not a reflection on the powers that be at the club.

I am a Covkid and I want my home town to be City of Culture if at all possible. Derry and Hull did very well out of it. Wasps and ACL were straight there. Our club has been part of Cov's history for well over a hundred years and should be at forefront of the bid, not playing catch up with Wasps. Is being part of Coventry not part of a reflection of the fan base? There was outcry when we left Coventry and Wasps moved into Coventry. I think fans would welcome some sign of commitment, however small, to being in Coventry in 2021.

So, as you say, I am an idiot, but I am interested to see CCFC doing something towards working with the city whose name they carry. You, being so intelligent see some cynical manoeuvre. Fair play to you.

There were prominent posters on here willing people to disrupt the capital of culture bid.
