What are the stats on us conceding late (85 onwards ish) point losing goals in the last 3/4 seasons? We must be the worst club in the English leagues!

Thing is, I bet if you look back there will be plenty of games that have finished 2-1 and we have been 2-0 up and conceded a late goal.

If we had some firepower these late goals probably wouldn't matter.

Valid point. We have been so, so soft, since the early Boothroyd days really when he briefly turned us into a bunch of nasty fuckers. We had players then who would put their all into every 50/50, battle for every header and make sure we kept ourselves tight till the last.

Also noticeable how many more 'leaders' and players with personality were in the squad back then, players who had that something about them. Think Wood, McPake, Doyle, Carsley, Turner, King, Keogh, Jutkiewicz and compare with Willis, Turnbull, Haynes, Lameiras, Reid, Bigi, RCC. Yes the current lot are slightly younger but we have completely different types of players now - timid, quiet, no leadership credentials. You either have that 'something' or you don't, regardless of age, and hardly any of the current lot do. That's a big, big problem when you're in the shit, and we have to hope guys like Clarke and Beavon can help instill more steel into the squad.

Agree with that. Conceding late comes down to lack of bottle/character. For too long we've had too many young players with no leaders to drag them through. Briefly we had Vincelot/Reda who helped change it a little.
