I've just watched the Fleetwood winner again, and just as I thought at the time Burge was at fault.

Ball was floated to the 6 yard line and Burge rooted to his line

don't think Mowbray lead Trumps election campaign but he did sign Ghadvez and Turnbull for cash and wasted loans on Wright,Agyei and Page as well as devoting time in the close season to the ridiculous pursuit of Kelvin Wilson.

Not seen it yet.

Burge made a bad error earlier too and was lucky to go unpunished.

He does have a habit of staying on his line and not going for the ball.

Opposite of RCC, who boldly goes for the ball but usually misses.

Poor defending by Nathan Clarke too, absolutely nowhere near his man, leaving him with free header.

You need to see the goal scorer actually threw Clarke to the floor just prior to him getting a free unfettered header. The linesman could see it as well

I can't remember a time when I've been so bemused by team selection and shape.
I'm normally quite optimistic but I'm resigned to the fact that I will be watching league 2 football next year.
That's was abject.

Thanks, it makes sense now why he was so far from his man. The pitch is in a right state again, quite a few players have been slipping over the last month or so.

That's a ridiculous notion.

He was at fault though for the Gambian president refusing to leave office.

Thankfully, I see that Slade has sorted this out and he's finally left the building.

2 minutes in today their defender back passed a ball with his thigh to the keeper, who picked it up ref allowed this, I am sure the thigh still counts as a back pass or am I wrong and the ref is right?
Interesting point - but it's more the last minute stuff that we can actually impact on that we need to look at

...onwards & upwards PUSB

4th in the table...that says they are a good side.
4th in the table indicates they are having a good season so far and good luck to them. But on the evidence yesterday they were not a good side, far from it.

It's not throwing in the towel, it's accepting the bleedin obvious.

It's looks bad but its not bleedin obvious except to the pessimist. You have stated we are relegated so yes YOU have thrown in the towel already.
I'm not ready to do that yet. We just have a different viewpoint on this one Otis.

They looked more organised all over the park, pre game, half time and during the game, they came with a plan and the whole team stuck to it and got the 3 points. There defenders must have been pissing themselves with laughter at half time after watching our long balls come in and be easily headed away. Time and time again we have seen organised teams play basic football and we haven't had any answers to it.Also doesn't help having fuck all on the bench to change things.

Agree with all this...their prematch warm up and half time subs warm up was organised and led by coaching team. In the match they knew their system and stuck to it. I had the feeling they were happy with a draw and never really stretched themselves.
As for their defence I think we can safely assume that was the most comfortable game they have had all season...we were lucky to get 0

We are obviously not relegated. Just saying it's now all but certainly over. Like pretty much every sane person on here. Nowt to do with pessimism.

Won 4 games all season long. Now we need 10 wins out of 19.

I am not at all a pessimist. We have had this conversation before. I would say when it comes to the City I am very much an optimist.

I am not stupid though. I can easily put the blinkers on, cover my ears and pretend what has happened isn't happening, but it is not the reality is it.

If I thought we would go out now and bring in 3 quality players I would say we have a chance, but it's not going to happen is it.

Both keepers are average. Our defence have been letting in silly goals all year and we have seriously struggled to score goals.

It is fairy tale thinking I'm afraid to say that we are suddenly going to tighten up the defence AND start scoring freely.

The top goalscorer has scored how many?

Our only hope this week in the transfer window, but I fear we need a Dennis Wise type inspirational player to turn this around and it's not going to happen is it.

I am optimistic. I am also a realist too.

7 points adrift. 4 wins all season. Ship goals, can't score goals.

But yeah, 10 wins out of 19 is definitely on for sure.

Hopefully at the end of the season you will be able to say - I told you so. and will rightly have a very smug expression as you say it.

Zero chance of staying up. Club is rotten to the core. Entire squad should leave at the end of the season - maybe keep those who have literally just joined. We need to start from scratch in League 2. I'd offer Slade the job even if we don't win a single game for the remainder of the season which is perfectly possible. This isn't his fault who else are we going to get? As I've said numerous times before Mourinho, Fergie or Klopp would struggle to turn this around. There is a culture of doom, defeatism and death about the entire club and regardless of the personnel it remains.

You'd give someone who's got two points in five games the job next season regardless? Love the logic

5 games... he should of watched the Bristol rovers game. So I'd call it 4 games to judge him.
Peterborough 2pts dropped Burge glued to his line...
Bolton, 2pts dropped... whistlegate and a Thomas goal disallowed
Chesterfield should of earned a point... Tudgay goal disallowed.
Fleetwood point dropped due to our 87 min on frailties...
so should read 8 points from 4/5 games..... fine lines between success and failure.

Your point about needing an inspirational player is spot on - look at the current lot. Total lack of leaders and strong personalities in that dressing room. Would you want Willis, Turnbull, Haynes, Burge, Lameiras, Bigi etc alongside you in the trenches? Sure, they're young, but none of them have that strong-willed, fiercely determined, leader-of-men type aura about them that, say, the likes of Reda Johnson, Richard Keogh, McPake, Doyle, Wise etc had. As a person you either have that instilled in you or you don't, it's not something you can teach so it's not their fault necessarily, that characteristic is just not in their nature. Clarke, Beavon and Foley might help with some of this but for me, there's a complete lack of character in this squad which is a massive problem in any team when shit hits the fan.
