Not a good guide for next season (1 Viewer)

Fantastic for us to win last night but maybe disturbing thoughts for next season - Wycombe made a number of changes last night and when they did bring their normal strikers on at the start of the second half it was a completely different game as we struggled against a top half bottom tier side and previously struggled against a top half bottom tier side Cambridge 4-0

I don't think we learned anything new and that we need our own strong dominant players to go toe to toe week in week out.
This summer is key... recruitment has to be done very wisely by a man who's works this level and on a shoe string

only beaven has been a real success yet so how about we hold off on lauding the great window?

Who's saying it was a success? I ain't.
Was it a bigger success than the summer? Quite possibly just narrowly as we signed Nathan clarke, a player TM would of unlikely looked at but fits the bill in being a leader and putting his head and body into everything.
Foley yet to prove much.
Beavon has chipped in with some goals and his work rate and performance has gained us a goal and put pressure up top.
The loan of rawson looks useful and Reilly finally showed us he can play last night.
Vernam and Folivi the jury is still out...
but as I've said I'd say of the players brought in only the 3 of clarke, foley and Beavon I'd say are slades choice of players. Reilly vernam and rawson convenient loans incase of Willis/harries and Stevenson left.
Striking options we lost out on targets as they chose other options.
January is a hard month to correct a summer of wrongs, and as TF has just said too the recruitment has been wrong for a number reasons in recent times. Unfortunately TM holds his place in that stat as RS will likely hold the tile of the manager who was in charge the day we went down

Moving the goal posts?? Either slades in charge or not?? Please stop ranting and make sense. I've no dislike to you and TM...
And yes I did think RS would save us..
To guess at the point your trying to make Agyei was likely a Loan TM was happy to take but Wright was another Folivi deadline day 11th hour extra body in the building.

so if they both have success and any failures are down to desperation and not the manager then really both windows exactly same and should be judged that way.

glad we finnaly got to the bottom of this one!

I used to agree with much of what you said but you're like a one track record at the moment. Give it up and move on. I liked Mowbray but his record over his last 8 or 9 months was dreadful. Are you related to him or something? Were you his secret lover whilst he was in Coventry? There must be something.

TM set his summer targets... one by one they slipped away. He drew up his target list with no suitable plan to fall on in the event we could not compete with any rival. We ended up looking to kelvin wilson with a history of injuries similar to Reda Johnson.
RS identified a player and got him in on the first day of the window out of a smaller pool of players available on a free. TM had a summer to recruit from a much larger pool of free agents after saying the club needed its own players and not to be heavily reliant on loans.
Ultimately his targets were unrealistic and has proven to have had a major impact on our season.
If RS managed to get a 10 goal striker in then this window would likely of been deemed a success as safety would of looked a lot rosier

Based on seeing Cambridge & Wycombe, next season's going to be tough. No question. Same as this season & all the others.

excuses excuses.stop being so bias.i am just saying judge them the same. be neutral like me.

hes brought in alot of players, if they dont do well you have to blame him like you blame previous managers. its that simple

lets hope it dont come to that too.

Cup game one away from Wembley, both sets of players playing at maximum effort, we sat back and defended lead in the 2nd half so they were bound to have more attempts/possession, they looked a lot more effective with Akinfewa on, I assume he didn't start because they can only get 45 good minutes out of him, if he could do that for 90 he wouldn't have been clubless last summer.

don't think you can read too much into last night, Cambridge game more worrying but that came at a time when the team was very unstable/transitioning against an up for it lower league side who were up for it in the cup.

No excuses from me... and certainly not biased. I'll most likely try and find the best in the new manager if RS leaves, I just hope he's a experienced man to do the rebuilding this squad needs.
I backed TM and was one of the few that tried to see any positives in Andre Wright when he came on that deadline day at 11th hour and hoped TM would bring in the right players within his limits.

andre wright has more goals than vernon and folivi combined.

agyei has more than beavon even!

all i say is let slades signings succeed before giving him another window
