Using loans wisely is part of it. But yes you also have build longer term

Rickets was alright to begin with before injury took over. Jones still has development potential. The players he signed last January were just short term gambles, hoping they would have an Indian summer. Like we have signed Yakubu this year. Rammage was signed only to get us to the January window as an emergency.

I think Mowbray ended up being frustrated that we couldn't attract the quality he wanted and had to gamble on players; "in the end it was just like flipping coins."

As opposed to a team that played sideways passes across the midfield and still created zero in the way of chances or goal threat.

The prior regimes record since November 15 exposes that once the early season 15 16 impact was gone the team and its tactics were hopelessly ineffective.

In truth Slade should never have taken the job. The best comment about the state of the club was from Greg Downes in a radio interview after a game just prior to mowbrays departure. He said that Mowbray had picked a squad to play like he would in the championship but with massively inferior players. A new manager would be doomed as the club weren't set to compete at this level.

He was right.

Think he's been onto a hiding since he's been here. He has tried to make positive changes and bring in new faces. Not sure that anyone would have had us out of trouble by now.

Plus we need someone to lead the team out at Wembley

It was a very tall order. But I don't think we expected the attempt to be as uninspiring as it has been. He needs to start getting results now regardless whether he can save us. I don't think he should have been judged on saving us, but judged on whether he succeeds in making us better as a team.

He has brought in a number of players. But as it stands has achieved less points than Venus or Mowbray. That is poor.

His cv is not full of promotions but that of firefighting and building competitive sides that have reached the playoff finals and enjoyed cup runs. So moderate success.
This fire was rapidly growing and he's not been able to extinguish it after bringing in some players of his choice who 50% been a success.

The bigger picture is who is the boards choice of candidate to lead us in league two. If it's not Slade then the new man needs identifying very quickly to see the task ahead which in all honesty a few highlights from sky blues player will indicate.
The manager needs to be in place very early to establish targets and go get them signed on before pre season starts.
If it's still Slade they choose then I trust he will get them players.

have i posted about how yesterday everything was set out badly? have i talked about us defending poorly? have i talked about us not making good scoring chances? nope because i ddint travel up there!

i havnt even seen the highlights yet. so what exactly are you are angry about? because i dont like slade? because i dont like him taking pictures with 1-0 gestures?

My daughter hasnt played with anybody on a beach either by the way, so no idea what you are on about there. Not sure why you would bring her into it though?
