I say we hire a woman manager. At least we'll be the first at something again.

Russell Slade for me even if we go down give him a summer to rebuild the squad what ever league we're in.
With all the talk of more season ticket holders staying away it's gonna take a experienced man in the transfer market to find a few more Nathan Clarke's and Stuart beavon's on a restricted budget.
Give it to a rookie and we will end up with a team of kids again and be kicked and bullied at places like Accrington and Cambridge again.
It needs a experienced manager to get the balance of youth and experience, let Slade carry on rather than start again.
He can start the phone calls first week of May when the retained lists start coming out.

Sort of....
Players like Ryan Haynes can walk away for nothing but if we offer him a contract and he decides it's not for him then we will receive a development fee from the club he joins.
DKE and George Thomas too.
It's all pennies in the pot we need
* I forgot Lee Burge too but I'd let him go, and if he was foolish enough to reject I doubt Nuneaton will pay a fee.

Does he?

Right. Thought people were saying on here that he's not been seen.

I am obviously listening to the wrong people.

At Wimbledon Eakin said he sat right by them.

Yes, I agree Steve - we need to offer a low wage contract to the ones we don't want, in the hope they'll turn them down and we get some sort of development fee. And an improved contract to the ones we want to keep, in the hope they'll stay. As long as whoever is manager makes the right calls about out of contract players, we should retain the best and get a not insignificant total fee for the others, provided of course that they attract offers from other clubs.

Pricks on here and you are pricks have made instant decisions that Sam Ricketts is likely to be a shite manager and why because he is already here,or inexperienced, as was a certain Jimmy Hill back in the day.
Believe it or nor we ain't going to get Mouriniho, Klopp or Conte, we wouldn't pay the wages !
A fresh faced young manager will be exactly what we need in division 4, new ideas, can stamp his mark and hopefully build a club. Not saying I am yearning for Ricketts but it will be someone of similar ilk I'd think, or do we really want a Danny Wilson,
a Phil Brown or an unemployed and can't get a job Curbishley, I don't, pissed off we these so called experienced never won or done fuck all failures. But I know what will happen if Ricketts got the gig unless he turns us into Bayern Munich overnight he'll be hounded by the usual suspects.

Phil Brown's doing fairly well at Southend. And he's got Fortune scoring a few.

As opposed to this usual suspect, who seems to think Brown and Curbishley are shit managers... and that's before they even come near our club.

What about pinching the two from Lincoln doing a great job. They are young look like they no how to organise teams and surely would love the challenge of taking us back to league 1.

You'd think Ricketts would be involved in some role. I think some sort of 'Liverpool boot room' model where there is continuity isnt a bad thing

If Slade goes, I can't help think that Ricketts would be a dead cert for the role
