Might as well give Ricketts a shot now, can't do any worse than Slade

I was told today he will be gone after Bury game unless we claim maximum points. But we will not replace him externally, make of that what you will.
Because if we lose or draw the Bury game, it's effectively all over.
We'd have to win or draw all the remaining games to stand any chance of staying up.
They should have gotten rid of him 2-3 games ago.

Please can you give us an idea of your source for this? Fair enough if you don't want to name names, but would be good to get a steer.

A mate of mine is reasonably matey with TF, and via this mate I understand that TF has been deeply unimpressed with some of our performances under Slade.

I hope you've told your mate to tell TF the fans are deeply unimpressed his and Joy Sepallas overall performance!

I initially thought Slade had a plan to support our talented young players with a few tough older guys with experience of the division. Unfortunately it seems I was mistaken
He seems to have cleared out most of the young players and now favours his own guys he's brought in or promoted from the ranks

Even Clive Eakins baffled by playing two forwards in wide positions !!!

Slades really starting to grind at me now.
It seems to me he prefers workers with not much flair to flair players with not much work.

You need a balance

Think your wrong there.... and on reflection you will to. RCC/Burge, DKE, Haynes, George Thomas, Kwame Thomas, Willis has featured when fit and available for selection, even Ben Stevenson has featured quite a bit before his injury lay off.
The only one not to is JJ, who in reality is only a impact player who hasn't offered much at all this season. Oh and lameries too

And Bigi & Harries
Ben Stephenson hardly featured either once Slade came in too. It seemed at the time the club were trying to sell him.

Winning against Bury should make no difference unless there's an unbelievable and unlikely winning run. We have to prepare for division 4 and with upto 10 players to replace we need someone for now and the future and that ain't Russell Slade !

Thought to myself a couple of days ago they are prepping Rickets for the next manager. May as well get him in now, liked what i've heard from him in the U23 interviews he has done

Ricketts was my guess, can't see it being Oggy or Venus again.

I'll make a deal with you. You prepare for Division 4 and I will prepare for League 2.

When I mention to my wife 'League 2' she takes that as the 2nd best league in the whole of football.

Ricketts wasn't a good leader as captain why do people think he would make a good manager?

He don't fill me with confidence either, he had his own troubles motivating a back 4 stronger than the one we have now! That's said if it's him I'll back him

I would be surprised if he was sacked as that would surely cost money to pay him off. It is not as if changing the manager now will save us unless a miracle happens. Realistically 12 points from safety now.
I haven't been impressed with Slade and wouldn't want to see this type of football next season, however, isn't he just another one in the long line of failed managers where the common denominator is Sisu? No one seems to think that next season in League Two will be a party. We struggled to beat Wycombe, Morecambe and Crawley and were hammered by Cambridge. Next season's budget is likely to be cut meaning worse players than the ones who struggled against League Two opposition this season. Will a new manager make any difference?

Venus should take a hell of a lot of the blame for the mess we're in. His hand in summer transfer dealings was appalling and then he wants to play at manager so delays the appointment of a new manager until too late meaning the new man didn't have enough time to assess the squad in competitive matches before the January window.

Not sure I agree. RCC/Burge, DKE, Haynes and Willis have all played out of necessity rather than a conscious choice from RS, while K Thomas has literally never been fit and available to any other manager. The only one he has favoured over other managers is G Thomas.

Even that can be balanced against his dislike of other youngsters such as Bigi and Stevenson, who are definitely better than Rose, or Ruben who at least offers something from the bench.

The point was made by someone he favourited his own players over our youth, your kind of right they are all we have so have played out of necessity. But I dont see any player of our own who is not picked while fit who deserves a game currently.

Even Ben Stevenson has played in most games either from the bench or started when fit to play. Since Northampton he hasn't been fit because of a injury he seems to have. Bigi played in the trophy v Brighton u23's and didn't do anything to stake a claim and looked very poor. So I can understand his exclusion. Lameries not been given many chances but again never stakes a claim in the trophy games he's played and is another boo boy from fans.

I know it's not his fault, that's clearly SISUs and I know their are some pro-Slade fans on here, but sorry the man should have been sacked weeks ago. His win ratio in the league must be absolutely appalling, one win in 14 is it??

We're getting worse and worse every week now and could be relegated by the cup final. Truly fucking hopeless. Forget everything off the pitch, he has absolutley no idea whatsoever with tactics, he makes the wrong decisions every match, he's completely uninspiring to the players and worst of all - he's been out performed by that SISU puppet Venus, who isn't even a manager and spends his days putting planning applications in for the houses at Ryton...

If he had any self respect he would take that fucking stupid cap off and resign first thing tomorrow morning.

Wouldn't cost sisu any extra money to move Russell Slade to one side and replace him with Ricketts or anyone else internally they could just put Slade on "gardening leave" until May I would. Think Ricketts is still on the pay roll too. If they want to sell any season tickets at all next season what better way than to put a new broom in the hot seat now to try and motivate the fans even a little bit.
