Does anyone else wonder why this appointment didn't come at the end of the Venus period? What has happened in the last 3 months for Robins to step in now ? Surely he would have been available back then so why didn't it happen then ?

People sounding like he's a pauper!

Listen, he's not set the world alight in his past two roles but would you go back to a club after what he said about Sky Blue blood, the council, the state of the club etc?

I just don't think you'd come back after those statements purely 'to put bread on the table'.

It's not like he'd be incapable of getting a job elsewhere.

All very strange...

He's been out of work since January 2016. Don't you think if he could of got another job he would have done so in that time?

Think it's fair to say the appointment and speed of it surprised even shocked us all. Don't think for a minute it was a case of thank you and goodbye Mr Slade then a phone call saying hello Mr Robins fancy a job ! His sudden departure from the post in 2013 was just as much a surprise and shock. Amongst the reasons sited by MR at the time included not getting certain assurances by his bosses and lack of help from CCC, so what has changed ?
I never held anything against him jumping ship, was probably the only effective thing he could do against issues and more importantly Tim Fisher and Steve Waggott.
Fisher is still here recently. spouting cutting budgets and player sales, hardly encouragement for any new manager.
Issues with ccc affecting the club still there really but shifted from Council to primarily Wasps who won't talk due to JR2
Situation here potentially worse than 2013, probable relegation, imminent loss of training ground, loss of Acadamy cat 2, no home ground in less than 18 months, proposed further budget restraints, player sales maybe enforced and chief protagonist Tim Fisher still here and spouting.
So what has changed for MR to even consider a return ? What assurances has he had ? Does he know something we don't know ? Does he know Simon Jordan ? Yes there's more question than answers, at the moment.

The bloke was sacked by Scunthorpe and has been out of the game for a year.
His stock is hardly high.
The reasons he said he left us have got worse.
However his situation has got even worse.
When those problems were issues his stock was very high and he was a man in demand.

Our situation is so desperate fans grab at anything and turn it into something. If he gets a win Saturday we'll be going up as champions from L2 next year and we're about to bought out by a consortium from China.

The reality is Robins wants a job and we are owed by SISU for the foreseeable future.

If Mr Robins is successful what stops him from leaving for a bigger club, (Liverpool, Manchester City, Chelsea, Huddersfield Town, Devonshire Arms 2nd XI) he has shit on Coventry in the past for £££, why the fuck can we trust him again?

Why the fuck can he trust us, when he's our fourth manager of the season, and the last one is ruthlessly dismissed after a mere few games in charge?

This is football. I'd rather see a manager be 'disloyal' and headhunted by another club, as it'd be because we were actually winning matches.

My theory, for what it's worth, is that potential new owners are lined up who insisted Slade went and it was they who instigated Robbins return, not SISU. As many have said, something is going on, otherwise I doubt MR would have agreed to come back.
or could it be just another con.job by tiny tim to sell next years season tickets?

If they restrict the budget further and look like not giving MR total backing that will have two affects they will sell even less STs and the manager will fuck off !!

Its not a bad appointment given our dire circumstances but if this is the extent of the ambition of our "new owners" I wouldnt get too excited about the sunlit uplands

Ruthlessly dismissed ? He won one out of fourteen games, taken us from one point from safety to twelve from safety and played some of the worst football I have seen.
Do you go to matches ?

Robins was having a blood transfusion, it took 3 months for his blood to turn the perfect shade of sky blue

I think Robins was always the preferred target and Slade was just the alternative. That's where Mark Venus has been then for the last 3 months - posting pictures of Iain Dowie through Mark Robins letterbox symbolising how hard it can be to get back into football management after getting sacked. Finally he's cracked and taken the job.

I don't over analyse. Just pleased Slade has gone and he is back.

Dublin , Keane, Pearce, Wallace , Huckerby,
All of these are rightly heroes of ours and all left us for bigger clubs and lots of extra cash.
My point is , every single one would have been welcomed back 2 years later without any questions asked. To me it's no different to MR returning.
Dion Dublin even refused to play against Luton before his move but would have had hero status if he had ever came back.

Which is fine.

Absolute nonsense to demand loyalty of managers if we show none in return. Rupert seems incapable of grasping this point, however.
Football fans are such a fickle bunch. Same as the horror and outrage when a footballer swears at a fan or flips the bird, despite it being fine for him to get dogs abuse from the stands for months.

Anyone who thinks wanting rid of Slade has rushed into judgement is a clown. I asked you do you go to games the answer looks to be no. Now I don't judge if you don't you may live miles away but if you asked any on here who do go home, away or both if 5% say he was okay I'll be amazed.
