We don't choose our family, nor our jobs... and posting under ridiculous pseudonyms is all about not being yourself really. There are occasions where it might be warranted if it means people are directly involved with the situation, but they're rare. We can all work for people and have an opinion and, indeed, under anonymity we're more likely to have an opinion opposed to our employers, aren't we. Just because we all have affiliations doesn't make us involved.

That being said, the 'abuse' in a general sense is nothing compared to GMK. Football's always going to be a bear-pit, isn't it. Never understood how people can get so upset being called a moron, when it's the pseudonym that's a moron, not me.

I don't understand how people get so upset in general re an internet forum. It's embarrassing.

Nobody likes being disagreed with, and I understand feeling passionately about your personal views and opinions, but the reason people chose to post under pseudonyms is the anonymity; it's "safe" to say what you like as nobody really knows who you are. I'm sure this place is full of individuals who wouldn't confidently contribute to a discussion in real life, but can here.

Nothing is a personal attack, in life people will disagree with you, but if you really spend time feeling hurt by comments on an internet forum, then maybe this isn't the place to be. Challenging discussions are a way of life, it breeds change and progress.

If you believe Grendel to be a troll, then why feed him? Perhaps, like others, he just likes to play devils advocate? Although he should drop the Bigi hate - devils advocate or not, that ones a little too obsessive.....

Remember Smiles posting a banned list once which had 100s of user names on it - though a fair % was probably Bob Bones and Curtis with multiple user names. :)
Think Smiles spent most of his time having to keep an eye on the site to stop people getting sued :)

I remember he took a load of stick for claiming he was at a Preston away game, but I could verify some of the facts he talked about regarding the pub before the game, etc.

I think he may well have been part of the "forward, forward" crew of idiots who stood behind the goal at Sixfields, and was also at the majority of away games at the time.

GMK was absolutely fantastic when it was part of the massive network of boards. I lost days at work on that site, and some of the abuse involving people getting followed round all the different teams boards, would have half the people on here needing therapy.

Did lose it's way towards the end, mainly as it was seen by others as a bastion of SISU support, and people jumped the sinking ship over to here. Despite all the bollocks and posts about favourite crisp flavours etc, it seemed a more mature board to me, where the members generally appeared to have personalities, and lives away from CCFC.

Incidentslly, the Leicester fans online board is the most similar to how GMK used to be, but not quite as mental.

Ha I can't believe you said this as it was me on Gmk that asked him to prove it in order to give him benefit of doubt and he described where me and my mates were stood and what one of us was wearing so he was very much a real albeit weird person!

everyone has their own opinion on how this club got to where it is now and where it is heading.
half the time people seem to get pissed at him is when he catches them out on previous statements they've made or factual inaccuracies.
don't have to agree with him but at least challenge him in a constructive way rather than just getting abusive.
