Question to all who witnessed last night. (1 Viewer)

Come on then, I want someone to name a team playing in this division who looked worse than we did last night. We hammered Bury, but they were better than that. Put 4 past Shrewsbury but they were not that bad.
Surely someone was as bad as last night.

You're giving us way too much credit there Nick, I clocked it at under 2 and that's even after they came close within 20 seconds of kick off.

This is the worst side in living memory ,they are devoid of any collective will and talent ,it is however not their fault as they are what they are the real fault lies in the chronic under investment,in any league of professional sport the better paid the better they do. what is so upsetting is we cannot compete with clubs with average crowds of 2500, the revenue steam argument put forward by Mr fisher is a red herring, there has to be intent by the owners to progress there is not and in my view we will struggle in lge 2 next year. all very sad

But my problem is,"they are not good enough" and I accept that. But if you are not good enough to compete with the opposition, you give it bollocks and make it as difficult for them as you can. Drag em down to your level an scrap for everything, if you have played a team sport you know exactly what I mean.

So many teams done it against us last season! They knew the couldn't win by playing football but could maybe manage a draw by stopping us playing football.
Games that come to mind are Blackpool at home and Doncaster at home

I thought they'd come out fired up last night, I knew we weren't when they nearly scored after 15 seconds and heads dropped immediately

Exactly, not good enough is not an excuse. It isn't like they have never played League 1 level football before.

Leyton Orient or Newport county would beat that team last night and there both rooted to the bottom of league two.
With lead boots in goal and zero chance of us scoring your only ever hoping for a draw.

First 25 minutes awful - easily the worst I've ever seen. Then we were just utterly impotent. Nick said the players don't care enough and I think I agree.

They are all professional footballers and we don't expect much.

A footballer has shown proven ability to

Run
Pass
Shoot
Tackle
Head

Our players were routinely failing to do all of these things - it was embarrassing and difficult to understand

Robins described the performance as horrendous

Leamington would at the minute from the southern prem, if you press us and work the ball around it won't be long till anyone scores.
If we don't get recruitment right this summer we will follow Crewe's season this year and be in the bottom reaches of league two. They finished league one bottom by a mile with kids from their youth team, and went again with them this season. It's a tough mans league..... Someone please tell Turnbull! I dread to see him in league two against them older experienced strikers. He'll be on his arse more that last night!

Footie players aren't the brightest on the planet. It can't help that they have had four different sets of instructions this season. They must be confused.

1st 25 minutes reminded me of the 4-1 defeat away at shrewsbury a few years back the worst I've ever seen us play but first 25 that night we couldn't get the ball out of our half and were all over the shop!

Very similar to last night.

We even contemplated going off to watch the Leic game on TV, reality sunk in and we stayed unfortunately. Came away last night with two thoughts.
1. Wembley will be embarrassing to be thrashed with such a following which could work against us for youngsters going who could support this club now and for the long term. The scars will never heal and they will support a prem team.
2. I wouldn't actually fight to keep any of the players for next year.

I hear what people say about DKE and others but they are not good enough. People rate Beavon, headless chaser of a ball in the same way as Tudgay, didn't pull the trigger when he had chance to in the second half last night. Midfield - All to go, add nothing. Clarke - shoot myself, Titanic Tunbull, milk turns sour quicker than him, Haynes - Sadly, cannot defend but can attack with pace, needs converting to a midfielder. Burge - dived at the beach ball to avoid the shot from the first goal. Tudgay - See Beavon
Would remove the toxic lot and start again.

Either someone or a few people were saying how Haynes should be played as a winger not too long ago which seemed a bit far-fetched but he seems more adept at taking players on than any of the actual wingers in the team at the moment. Shame about that bit where he made his way into the box and somehow made his way back out again, but it did handily sum up the distinct lack of options and decision making throughout the team last night.

Could be a cheap mans Bale with the right coaching and development possibly - would have a lot to do

That was the worst performance I have ever seen from either a professional or semi professional sports team. Certainly the worst performance by a Coventry team. That is saying something after other performances this season.

Sorry to burst people's bubble but there have been worse performances from City this season. Chesterfield away was one.

I went to Chesterfield and I still think last night was worst. At least at Chesterfield we competed against an almost equally bad side.
