Robins effect starting to come through?

I hope so
At 2-0 he was still going mad at people for not getting into position quickly for a set piece! Nice to see.

Played ok tonight alot better than last Tuesday. Reid played well but why does he stand on the ball and turn when he is already away from his man one one frustrating. But a couple more people had fight in there game tonight and Haynes needs to be a winger.

Good display. Last 15 shaky but thats to be expected. Alot more heart and tenacity shown although alot of players natureally not tough so to speak.

Reid rawson clarke willis and g thomas were all brilliant for me.

WOW A WIN!!!

FANTASTIC but....................

..................WHY oh why did'nt they get Robins when they appointed Slade????
Maybe he assessed it as a situation where we were in with a chance of surviving but he didn't think we were capable...& didn't want that negativity.

Coming in when he did...nobody had the expectation of us surviving...his tenure will not be recalled for relegation as nobody blames him

...onwards & upwards PUSB

They looked as bad as we have in recent weeks which went a long to way to making us look a lot better than the norm.
Still, its a win and a huge improvement across the pitch compared to recent weeks.

basically that we were better but only a small step and still a lot to do
Decision making still poor at times
praised Reid - but says he needs to be quicker
And said we had only really beat a team in the relegation zone and b rovers will be tougher
I think he said they will enjoy it but not get carried away as its only one win

spoke well
Probably went to a private school.

We look so much better with two forwards as long as one is not Tudgay. Reid was a good outlet but the same problem in goal.

Burge yet again being worth a goal to the opposition. Thankfully Kyel Reid played like Ronaldinho in the first half on the great man's birthday. Good shift from most of the others. Bigi was iffy as was Haynes at times.

Made 2 good saved but hey we'll forget about them. Who wasarking the goalscorer.
Worst player when he came on was Stokes four passes all to the opposition.

I also thought goal apart, that Kwame Thomas was dreadful. He just seemed to be throwing himself all over the pitch like some drug crazed ballet dancer.

Burge did make a couple of saves and a couple of punches. Up until the goal I didn't think he was doing too badly, his kicking was also improved.

Then for the goal he sort of ran out and got stuck in no mans land.

Will have to watch the one that bounced and looked to be going over him again to see if he did it for the cameras.

Overall we have to be happy with 3 points.

However, Vale were poor. As mentioned above they played almost as badly as we have at times this season

Thought when we conceded the late free kick we were going to screw up but pleased we didn't

Reid was like a new player! Let's hope he's finding a new lease of life. But I won't hold my breath!

Shame that George T still hasn't found the cutting edge to his game. I thought after getting a couple of goals he'd be more confident in front of goal but his chance tonight shows he's not yet got it. And probably shows why he's better out wide than down the central. Do like his defensive qualities which also helps with him being asked to play wider

Bigi started off terribly but gradually worked his way into the game. Still not convinced by his overall game though. Would. I keep him next season? I'm not sure

Rawson was MOTM alongside Reid for me. Bar he silly free kick he conceded at the end I thought he managed their man mountain (9) out of he game superbly

Clarke looked more comfortable but still looks to just good it up field Bradford style too often

Burge is never going to fill me with confidence

Just need to keep working now. Even if it's just to build up a confidence in the lead up to Wembley.

That was better although Port Vale are crap, Kyle Reid with the goal of the season

It's a much better feeling coming away with a victory, even if it means nothing in the grand scene of things. Plus, and potentially even more importantly, feeling as though the players actually played with effort and determination.

Let's hope it's a mini run to give us confidence going into Wembley.

Reid was unplayable (more so in the first half) and he has probably cemented his place for Wembley, but I can't help but feel the performance is somewhat tainted by his performances all season. He obviously has the ability to win games, but why has it taken until game 39 to see it?

I have never rated Burge, but credit where it is due his kicking had improved somewhat today. However, his positioning for the goal was poor.

Rawson looked a different player tonight, as did Clarke, even if it's still too much long ball from the latter.

Bigi was hot and cold, but to be fair to him he never hides and always wants the ball.

G Thomas played well, although I feel as though his best attribute is his work rate which is never great for an attacking player.

K Thomas was very poor - awful first touch and overall offered little. Saying that, he did try to put himself about and succeeded more than most before him.

Jones is an awful footballer. I think he can get better, he's just too naive. If we want to challenge next year we can't carry him - loan to another L2 or conference side.

Overall we played with a much better tempo today and moved the ball through the team a lot quicker. It's positive signs, especially considering the shambles we have witnessed this season, that Robins may be able to do something constructive next season.

I am having that as a partial correct prediction. We did win by one goal.
Never ever saw us scoring 2. To be fair. Quite gobsmacked.
Bring on a good run before Wembley

Burge is so bad that we're supposed to praise him for making two simple saves and only letting in one sloppy goal. The guy is a liability and I'd really like to know how anybody defends him.
I think he needs all the defending he can get, because he is useless.

A platform for Mark Robins to build on nothing more, I think we need at least 10 new players in the summer ger better players those still here should perform better, I don't think Robins is a big fan of loans but I think will need a couple or so to help budget wise.
