I thought Lameiras was anonymous in that first half, but contributed so much more in the second and was at last showing his creativity.

I thought Burge had an outstanding game. Thomas's goal will be up there among the Wembley all time classics! (Along with KH's of course!) What an unstoppable screamer!

Bigi broke up play, made good simple passes, scored and cleared off the line. Thomas worked hard good goal. Reid was tireless end to end. Haynes always involved going forward. Turnbull very committed. They all get 8 for me.

No one was bad or looked vulnerable. So the rest 7.

Good performance. Especially by the fans.

Thomas could grow into a talisman for us but even he has put himself in the shop window now. Watched the goal back and its even better than I thought

Thought all played well today. Bigi and Stevenson both played well but seemed to also be a tad weaker than their CMs.

Anyone remember Burge's save at 2-1 when they went one on one? totally forgot but fucked me he did well there

Burge - 10. Did nothing wrong all game. And made 2/3 incredible saves. Best game of his career.
Willis - 7.
Turnbull - 9. Threw himself at everything. Won his headers. Never once backed down. Best game he's had for City.
Stokes - 8.
Haynes - 7.
Stevenson - 7.5.
Bigi - 8.5.
George Thomas - 9.5. I bloody love you George.
Lameiras - 8. Gave the ball away a couple of time, but on a big pitch - that you can actually play football on - he proved his worth with nice quick passing and movement.
Reid - 8.
Beavon - 7.5. Ran all day. That was his job and he did it perfectly.

Reuben really needs to man up a bit as he is easily shoved off the ball which takes away from his excellent vision. I'm not sure about Beavon, don't doubt his workrate and the fact that he is a real team player but he is not a number 9 and for a team to progress we need a genuine striker

I'm delighted Burge did well today after telling a couple of fairweather fans what a liability he is before the match but honestly, although he's made three telling saves, the first two were routine for a good keeper (the second was more a bad shot than a great save) and the third at the end which was genuinely a proper save still nearly resulted in a goal from the rebound. So the OP's 7.5/10 is about right, it's only a 10/10 compared to what we're used to seeing.

Bigi MoM for me. Popped up for the first goal which I think gave us a bit of confidence, broke up play including some big challenges in the box, passed competently and the block on the line at the end.

Burge - 8.5: Two saves at 2-1 (I think the first was anyway) as good as goals. Only one dodgy kick that I can think he did wrong.
Willis - 7.5: Solid
Stokes - 8: Excellent
Turnbull - 8: Excellent
Haynes - 8: Thought he had a really good game, especially first half.
Bigi - 8.5: First half was a machine, the well taken goal, a fair few excellent blocks and tackles, smart passing. Faded a bit second half.
Stevenson - 7: A couple of nice touches and a couple of poor ones. I've seen him play better.
G Thomas - 8: What a goal. Some nice attacking play second half, not so sure about first half. But what a goal.
Lamerias - 7: Anonymous first half, got better second half but still not amazing. If you can't play on a pitch like that with that much space, you never will as that type of player IMO. Though did love him going mental at the final whistle, so maybe he can stay.
Reid - 7.5: Not a Reid fan, thought he was an excellent outlet and would be an 8 or higher but he has a habit of trying to do too much, especially in situations where he has the run of the fullback and just needs to knock it past and go. Murphy was excellent at this last season, whereas Reid seems to like to keep it close and it hobbles his speed a bit.
Beavon - 7: Did OK, worked the back line well, linked things up, never looked a danger.

DiKE - 7: Did what he had to.
Tudgay - n/a
Jones - n/a

Didnt know how they didnt score at the end, only seeing the highlights just now and Bigi gets a 10, for scoring, for stopping them scoring, everyone else gets a 9.5 cause we won.
Simples.

I thought Bigi was Man of the match. Scored a vital goal to settle us down. Broke up play and drove nearly every counter attacking move we had. I just hope Russel Slade was watching.....

I couldn't choose between Bigi and Thomas. I thought the midfield as a whole was excellent - it was lovely to see fluent one touch passing and it reminded me of the time when Wilson and Clarke were scoring so many. I read on here that Robins thought our midfield was second best. I didn't see that, for me they dominated the game - just look how many times Oxford were limited to passing the ball around in their own half.

Burge - Never flapped, safe all game, and some excellent saves 8.0
Willis - Terrific until he went off 7.5
Haynes - Had a very good game 8
Stokes - Very steady, but occasional headers and passes straight to the opposition marked him down 7
Turnbull - excellent 8.5
Bigi - I know he messes up sometimes, but I thought he was tremendous 8.5
Stevenson - Too many slack passes, didn't look like the player we know he is 7
Lameiras - Anonymous first half, slightly better second half. weak link in yesterdays team 6.5
Thomas - Played well, and superb goal 8
Reid - Terrific 60 minutes, then faded, but still overall an 8
Beavon - Worked really hard, defenders know they don't have time on the ball. caused some errors 7.5

Subs

Dke - Played well 7

Burge - 8 - Didnt have a lot to do all game but hugely stepped up in the moments he had to

Willis - 7 - Put in a reasonable shift
Stokes - 7.5 - Looked shaky in the start of the first half especially from set pieces. but sured up through the game
Turnbull - 7.5 - much the same as stokes
Haynes - 7.5 - would like to have seem some more attacking play from him but did a good job

Bigi - 8.25 - mostly for his work in the first half. He gave a calm head in the middle of the park and put in some good tackles too. As well as tirelessly supporting the defense
Stevenson - 7 - did ok, probably happiest in the way we defended as a team at times and provided cover for the defense

Thomas - 8. I felt his second half performance was much better. the further he was forward he really created more of a threat and took his goal very well.
Lamerias - 6 - Weakest player on the pitch for me. He didnt really add much to the game, he seemed to timid to shoot or run at anyone. I think i would have prefered thomas there closer to the forward with possibly Jones out wide
Reid - 8.5(MOTM) my man on the match, was a threat for most of the game causing their left side issue, with a wonderful cross for Thomas's goal.

Beavon - 7 - i feel he did the best with what he could and his strengths. he doesnt strike me as a forward designed for that formation as he was often isolated.

I would pretty much go with these ratings. All did well yesterday and deserve credit but for me Bigi was there at the 'big' moments. Right place to score and took it coolly. Then headed ball away (I think it might have beaten burge. The one where we then headed behind). Finally right place to clear off line in final moments.
Yes a few misplaced passes, plenty of ungainly slips and a few mistimed tackles. But he kept the midfield going even with Stevenson and lameiries not really being at their best.

Think we need to give Robins a 10 as well. When I saw the line up I thought he'd messed it up but he got it spot on. Everyone seemed to know what they were supposed to be doing and we had a plan. Sounds like something simple that should happen every game but has been sadly lacking this season.

I thought Lameiras was excellent. His positional sense was generally top notch, he harried with the best of them, when he had no energy left and was running like a rag doll he somehow found an extra ounce of adrenaline to get there. He never gave up. I'd take that performance from him every day of the week. Yes, he didn't stand out, but he didn't hide away either.
