That quote was on CCFC announcing the return after they knew that Wasps were on their way.
Make no bones about it but we would not be coming back if Wasps deal was not known by TF.

So Councillor Townsend was lying to the Coventry public and fans of the club. All the talk of future ownership was total lies?

People want rid of SISU, but its far harder than you sitting behind your keyboard writing lets get rid of them, as we can all do that.

Are you telling me that won't work???

I was specifically told by the CET all I needed was a Facebook page, a fuck load of retweets and to throw the words 'fan ownership' about and that would take care of it.

PS... do I send back the bedsheets? Will they mind if I can't get the crayon out of it?

A children's charity that invests in pubs. Interesting.

Don't go down this road we have been here before, whilst they started as looking at supporting children's issues, that isn't their specific remit now so pipe down unless you have the full facts.

And what are the full facts?

No - that would involve spending their own money. Much easier to take stuff built for other people when you have a council that will bend over so graciously at the slightest bit of attention.
The Wasps plans show an extension to the existing facilities with the barn occupying the old fenced football pitch,.
They have knicked some of the pitches though but have not seen the swimming pool plans so no idea whether the existing offices used by CCFC are lost in that proposal.

Who knows ?
Wouldn't be the first politician to stretch the truth !!

But what was the point if as you insist CCFC already knew about Wasps? Personally I don't think they did hence the story and the comments. Anyway, wouldn't CCFC find the comments bizarre if the Wasps story was true?

What's your point?

Either way they're not bloody paying for it are they?

What's happened to the £7 million investment? Lol

How do we get rid of them? Why don't you share your wisdom and tells us what your answer is? rather than telling everyone else what to do without putting anything forward yourself.
I can't but if we stop giving them oxygen by blaming others and push them on their plans for the future.

Who cares who is paying for it ?
The question was put that the CCFC offices are going because of Wasps and not because of the Swimming pool which is nothing to do with Wasps. IIRC.

No, I said that the were Rugby facilities included in the pool proposal.

Of course it's nothing to do with Wasps.

Make your mind up.
Wasps were either in discussions with the council years before they took over or weeks after CCFC returned.

It's simple , they don't have it ! The sooner they realise that running it alone will kill them the better.
The longer they live in the rugby dream of world domination the worse it will get.

Another favourite line on here at the time was that the charity couldn't accept less than their initial investment or the charity commission would "come down on them like a ton of bricks"

Oh and a vile Mayfair hedge fund had a moral duty to offer it anyway.

Clearly different morals for hedge funds from Malta apply.
And what people forget just to get their arguement across is that the council had the last day in who Higgs sold to.

Oh it's ok to spout bollocks on investment of its your Maltese mates then?
Or you to defend yours.
You are all the same so stop this high moral shit you and your mates are just as bad as Italia.

I can't comment because they don't appear to available to the public !!

Don't turn this on me, I didn't say it was years before, did I? I'm asking you. Why, if CCFC knew Wasps were taking over the stadium and only came back because of that (as you insist is the case) did Townend lie in the local newspaper and build the hopes of CCFC fans that Ricoh ownership was possible? And again wouldn't CCFC wonder what he was playing at if your theory was correct?

Exactly. They were always going to choose a London franchise over the 130 year indigenous football club. Now that is a major dollop of spite. Still...only 247 years to go....

Wouldn't be a surprise if Richardson had enquired about the Ricoh even before he had bought wasps.

He did. Peter Rossborough confirmed that many years ago.

The argument that Italia spectacularly misses every time is that we should ALL be hating both SISU and Wasps - and really any CCFC fan with any kind of moral conviction would feel this way. It's this apathy and acceptance of Wasps that has created such a division in our fanbase.

Perhaps if the CET had an ounce of conviction they would have condemned Wasps arriving from Day 1. If other people like the SBT had done the same then you would have pretty much unilateral support behind a campaign for change in terms of CCFC. But because these 'leading' representatives were so pathetic in their response you now will never unite all these different factions because there is literally no one to trust anymore.
