Anyone asking themselves if it will ever really be possible for us to get back to the premier league , with no assets & no ground etc, take look at the history of Brighton! The similarities to our situation over recent years is uncanny.

And Coventry have a much bigger fan base & population!

I think that of all the clubs that have been in trouble over the past 20 years or so Brighton, as you say, were in the position most similar to ours. Shocking owners, ground sold from under them, having to play home games 60 miles away. They have survived all of that plus nearly going out of the league and are now back in the top league with fantastic ground and training ground. Something to aim for once Sisu have gone.

I seem to remember to that in some of their darker days that they would have a certain nominated game in a season where fans of other clubs would attend a Brighton game wearing their own clubs shirt as a sign of unity and support. Maybe we might even get SUFC or SAFC fans coming to one of our games? Maybe not!

Population
Population is half the size of Coventry?

Attendances, taking into account league position, momentum and era are lower, though possibly better in terms of population

England historical attendance and performance

England historical attendance and performance
Population of Brighton and Hove 273,000
Population of Coventry 316,000

People seem to think we are a big club with massive support and fan base, we are not, but this does not mean you can't be a decent well run club that has the potential to be a premier league club.

Took them nearly 15 years to get their own permanent home again, 20 years to get into the top flight after the loss of the Goldstone, and over 30 years to get back in the top flight after relegation.

So yes, there is hope, but it's a kind of long-term hope!

I'll be long gone and buried (or burnt) by then! Can someone have a cheer and a pint for me when it happens, seeing as I won't be around! ....... :emoji_coffin: or :emoji_amphora:

Pool Meadow would be a great site. The ball might end up on the ring road occasionally, but a more central place you couldn't find. Might even be able to reconfigure the road lay out so that the new club grounds could occupy the area where the swimming baths and the sports hall are now. Right close to the Cathedrals that people sing about too. Yes, I know it will never happen but a nice thought. Much more space than the Butts too.

But we don't have that sea air to invigorate us like Brighton has.

Don't they also have a massive cachement area as well as Crystal Palace are probably their nearest football league club to them?

ah, overlooked the hove bit. In which case they're quite a poorly supported team.

I think most people see us as a club with a large population base and average support (akin to Leicester rather than, say, Derby), and which would comfortably support a Championship side.

Brighton are not poorly supported at all. Walk around the centre of Brighton and you see a lot more Brighton shirts being worn that you do Coventry shirts in Coventry.

You can but look at the likes of Brighton & Bournemouth and think "If only......".

Its the fun thing about the league structure.....anyone can make it........ Fleetwood in the Prem anyone ? I mean....really ???

Anyway, you might not think so now, but riding the rollercoaster of ups & downs is much more fun than following boring teams like Arsenal et al !!

Brighton threatened to contest council seats in order to get backing from Brighton and Hove council.
Perhaps this is a feasible route once SISU leave. (I know that's not likely any time soon)

Yep backwards, but at least we can't see the shit that's about to hit us.

We've given a whole new meaning to the phrase "when the shit hits the fan"
This particular fan is sick of being hit with shit.:emoji_poop:

That's because its warmer there. Walk around Coventry and you'll see more City winter coats than you see of Brighton in Brighton

Id rather be on a rollercoster that stops in Munich Madrid and Lisbon rather than Morecombe Grimsby and Barnet.
