Rumour: Hoffman and Elliot takeover negotiations (1 Viewer)

Is it that OSB or is it that genuinely, they want proof of funds and to know who the investors are? I'd say that she'd say no, potentially on the basis of lack of cash up front, but more so that the other investors 'may' include people connected to Wasps which could influence JR2. Might be wrong but I wouldn't necessarily say she won't deal with the Hoff. In my opinion, they need a lot more substance to take to the table.

I guess the positive in all this, is that they will listen to offers. Clutching at straws and all that.

WM

I'm not sure, Hoffman used Michael last time for his token offer to buy the club.

Just good timing for all this before that last game to get people fired up?

Sorry Nick, maybe we should all just go the last game and watch a relegated team and then just go home and hope SISU are still here come August.

Who cares if it's good timing, hopefully it makes more noise and gets other parties interested

Really? You must have selective reading then.
That's my point in a nutshell.

Anyway, I have made the effort to ask friends who know the Hoff. I won't post anything on here though for obvious reasons - keep it in the real world.

Both of the newspapers are hot sweaty shit. Reid and the Observer have the contacts but have surrendered a critical edge apart from the odd fixation on the various fan groups which they'd be better off just not addressing, and the Telegraph is on the outside peering through the window taking potshots and claiming all kinds of victories despite it not feeling like we've been victorious in anything for over a decade*. I wish there was some outlet that was just factual and down the middle, but that's not journalism nowadays.

*JPT excepted

Pretty sure someone said it was £8m last time it was discussed.

Sources at the council have also indicated several developers have already expressed an interest in building houses on the site which, based on other land deals in the borough, could generate well in excess of £2million if sold off for housing.

What ChiefDave said.

And whilst you might be right about no one being worse than SISU, there's a chance that others could be as bad as them. After the transition from previous to SISU, I simply cannot see what some wouldn't be cautious about new owners.

Desperation shouldn't be an excuse for open arms without caution.

I predict Wasps would be as bad as SISU.

The real world will be when I go to the gym later and have some bloke telling me how we are going to be taken over because he has seen the headline in the telegraph and got his hopes up, the same guy who will be fuming when he finds out it's been rejected..

I think the fact Italia has been saying "get your phones at the ready" and the timing of it makes it look a bit like a PR game doesn't it?

Which Hoff do your friends know?

It's coming together isn't it?

Keys in on it saying "back the bid".

Anybody want to run a book on what happens next?

Well hopefully they will improve the offer as they seem to be the only people remotely interested in a takeover. Rather not have Hoff but better than SISU I guess.

This good though yeah? Backing a bid to get Sisu out? Right? Yeah?

Not when the bid has already been rejected.

Like I have said to him, get some info out about the bid so people can get behind it and back it.

Otherwise it's like me backing you to have an orgy with all the Kardashians and sparking Connor McGregor out tonight just based on hope because I want it to happen.

Is backing a bid that has been rejected out of hand a good use of time in backing it, or should we use the it to push them to up the bid, or for other investors to come in? rather than flogging an already dead horse.

I'll see if the Mrs is up for it.

I'd say push them for info about the bid and the plan so that people can get behind it rather than the "ah, its just hoffman again" reaction.

I tend to ignore piffle - hence asking a mate who is a pal of the Hoff.

Also, hence waffling on and fish and penguins - helps lighten the mood

Could be the best £2.00 I ever spent.
