My dads fav all time city player... good enough for me. I saw him for a season or two before he broke his leg. Always had the opposing centre forward in his pocket.
Happy birthday Big Man

Snoz is a bit more in the public view where as George is more away, a bit like their time together
I get that George may not like all the media attention !

But that doesn't excuse the football club ( ie WEMBLEY ) John but no George !

Unless George is not well , but I've not heard anything .

other than Arther Rowley who was playing for Shrewsbury back then, always gave George a run for his money

Did he not break his leg in our first away game in the First Division at Burnley? something which contributed to our relegation struggles.

Back in the day, there was always an intake of breath when George charged across the pitch to take out the ball, the man and even the bobby on the touch-line.

Regards.

Never saw a centre forward get the better of George over the period of a game. Always had (Add name) in his pocket, and even saw him burst the ball with a power header out of defence. Happy birthday big man.

George Curtis's achievements at CCFC should never be underestimated, debut at 16, captain of the club in four divisions, tragically broke his leg second game in in our inaugural first division season at Forest, while being stretchered off along the touch line he was sat up smiling, was back by Easter and immediately played his part in an unlikely survival from relegation. Went to Villa for a couple of seasons think they won promotion from division three and he may have been captain, came back here as commercial manager and managing director and was manager of our cup winning team, people tend to forget that. Sad day when he jacked that in to return to the commercial side, I actually think John Sillett wasn't quiet the same without Curtis alongside him. Also sad he never gets involved with club at all now, legends day or anything.

I think he was at the memorial to JH in the cathedral.

I remember seeing him down Nuneaton Boro, i think it was when Bayern trained there, he was still recovering from his broken leg or at least he was on crutches, i was about 13 at the time i spoke to him and he just looked a giant, then in a pre season friendly a few years ago again at the Boro i spoke to him and i was shocked that I was taller than him, I recounted the story and he just said how things change, sadly thats so true i wish him all the best but sadly his health is on the decline now :(
