is anyone else watching this and thinking we'll be alright next season?

3/4 of the sides relegated are currently in the top 7, and Blackpool are an arguably worse basket case than ourselves and at the start of the season had less of a squad than we'll have.

I reckon with MR in now we're better prepared and actually quite confident about next season.

PUSB!

I'm watching Hartlepool have a good go at donny. Lewis Alessandra is a player worth stealing. Out of contract July

EDIT:- 2 of the relegated sides got into the top 7 - but Colchester were competing to the end.

There are some gems in the lower league, I'd like us to get David Tarpey from Maidenhead

I just needed Hartlepool to score for my BTTS bet so it was handy that it is the televised match.

And of course that they scored.

Did nt like the stats re league 2 given on Sky. Only 5 of the last 40 teams relegated from League 1 have come straight back up.

In all fairness I look at each relegation and say you have 2 seasons to go back up.

There was no excuse in our first season in The championship, we went down with "division one on tour" billy big bollocks mindset. second season the cuts happened and we effectively had our youth team.

We should have gone up in our first season in League One, however we had garbage management until 10 games in then had a 10 Pts deduction, second season was Northampton and -10 start - arguably were going to make the play offs before Leon left and Wilson got injured.

This is the first time we've gone down and I feel like we are well prepared with a good manager - if MR lasts the season, we'll be in the top 3

Define 'alright'? For me promotion is the only acceptable outcome next year...

We had the same views when we dropped out out league one I seemed to remember...

I really ain't expecting much next season except further disappointment. Let's face it, the velocity of the crash course SISU have us on is increasing all the time. At this rate I wouldn't be surprised if they have us non league within two seasons.

I'm quite confident of a top 7 finish next year as I believe this year can be different to the other relegations mainly as the biggest difference is we have the new manager in place not the relegated one. So we're not parting company with the manager after x amount of games.... I hope!!!
Add that to the fact we've a huge amount of players out of contract it's gonna be a team of MR choice added with players that he's selected and picked to be in his squad.
I believe we can get a balanced team of experience and our youth to get a competitive to go 46 games in league two. The players are out there and available on a free.

I just hope we don't get a massive influx of loanees as per the last 6 years... we need to create stability in order to get out of this league. Players who want to play for the club, something to prove

I really wish I could share other people's optimism but I just can't, unless there's a change
Of ownership I see a continuation of the decline, and yet more heartache.
With new owners the relief and general good feeling alone would probably be enough to
Get us to the playoffs.

Interesting that Portsmouths top league goal scorer finished with only 13 goals, and no one else finished on 10+ goals.
Only conceding 40 goals helps tho while scoring a total of 79 as a squad.

It has to be immediate promotion surely? Nothing else will satisfy this city. Just hope the confidence and mentality that will bring may even see us gain back to back promotions.
I certainly won't accept league 3 for more than one season. Even under SISU we are nowhere near as bad off as many in this league.

first time promotion or we are going non league. one shot at it. going on history with Sisu/Fisher if we miss the first season we've had it.

I'm really optimistic, even under SISU I can't see failure - we're well prepared with a good manager. I'm having money on our 10/1 to win the league

Apologies... I mean in spite of SISU, I really think we've bottomed out here, I think we're prepared in the sense we're not due a 10 point deduction, and we've got a competent manager ready for the summer
