Who would you prefer next season? (1 Viewer)

Newport County or Hartlepool United?

Daggers, Aldershot, Tranmere or Forest Green?

The only bad away day out of that lot is Aldershot and they're 3-0 down going into their away leg at Tranmere so we can probably forget about them. Hartlepool is a long way but we could make a weekend of it - I know some lads who did the trip up there for the day when we played them in the cup a few years ago.

There's about 9 clubs who could get into the L2 playoffs but only one out of all these will pass us on their way up / our way down...so not worth listing them all here.

Any preferences for away days next season?

Newport would be easy for me, as would Forest Green, as would make a weekend of it visiting family in south Wales. But I don't like FGR as they're upstarts, would rather see Tranmere come up as they're a proper historic club and also easy to visit from where my mum lives (another one to make a weekend of it up in Cheshire). Daggers, though easy for me as a London-based fan, is a crap ground and they're another upstart club.

Hope Crewe stay down simply so I can see us there next season - dead easy from my mum's so I can stay up that weekend.

Not a fan of Forest Green Rovers, mainly as they seem a 'new team'.... But would grudgingly admit it would be a good away day. Decent ground, away terrace if I remember correctly, and the town it is in is quite nice.

Dagenham another London trip is always a good shout.

Would also like Tranmere or Newport as traditional clubs.

Hartlepool for me, I fancy going up there next season. Don't fancy Newport, awful pitch, awful ground.
As for those coming up I fear Tranmere the most as they and Lincoln will be strong sides in league two. I'd not mind Forest Green I've nothing against them, another bizarre moment with them tho as a kid I watched Forest Green and Burton Albion lose to VS Rugby in the league 3/4 leagues lower than league two.

No chance of eating all the pies at FGR (unless you're vegan)!

Birkenhead is a horrible place and we got our coach bricked up there a few years ago so I hope they don't come up. Don't really buy much in grounds anyway but Forest Green isn't quite my cup of tea. Rodney Parade is a quirky place but aren't they moving to the ground we've played at during pre season a couple of times?

Really like Sincil Bank so looking forward to going back there.

Forget Shots now, they have been knocked out by Tranmere in the semi this afternoon.

anyone who thinks we are in any way a big club should note this thread and see the sort of teams we are playing next season

Its not even as though this is as bad as it gets

I'd like Forest Green. Just a bit different.
Really wanted it to be Dover before they dropped out the playoff places a couple of weeks back.

Forest Green - just because it sounds a bit different. Ultimately I want grounds that can accommodate us if we are doing well (don't laugh) and taking a few!

'Where the fuck is Forest Green' was my favourite song of the season last week at Scunthorpe. Can imagine that coming up again should they get promoted.

Personally wouldn't mind either of the teams. Preferably not Tranmere as it's already a relatively northern league.

The other question is which of the play off teams in league 2 do we want to stay down.

Ha, shame to have missed that one as I do actually know - I could have piped up, "anyone"-style, with "Nailsworth!" after the chorus....

In the play-offs, one of Blackpool, Exeter, Carlisle or Luton will go up and thus miss us next season. Purely based on the away day, Exeter is a long way and also a terrible away end, so I'd probably prefer the other three to that one as somewhere to go away. It is a nice city to go to mind, so could be minded to make a weekend of it....

I'd really like to avoid tranmere as they are a fairly solid outfit with goal scorers in the team. I think they'd do well in league two should they come up.

Blackpool I'd like to stay down as it's a good away day, Carlisle ain't that strong a side so happy for them to stay down with Exeter.
Luton we could do with going up and out the way as again they are a solid side so would be top 5 next year.
So should tranmere come up like Lincoln are that would be two likely top 7 sides there, added with a likely strong Swindon side, Port Vale, and possibly chesterfield. That's 5 of the 7 top spots possibly occupied. Anyone of the top 10 this year could of still gone up via the playoffs on the last day, if they are still strong sides next year that's your top 10 looking occupied without considering what we may do and impact on the league.
So I'd like Luton, and Dag & Red to be the sides to exit and enter league two.
