Rumour: Hoffman and Elliot takeover negotiations (5 Viewers)

Clearly it would be mainly add-ons, as per the 10m bid. And before people start, yes it's an unsubstantiated rumour and could be bollocks. Comes from a good mate who's mate was supposedly out with Hoffman the other night. Don't hang me if it turns out to be bollocks, as I don't have a record of coming on here to take the piss.
Bit misleading then, understand is a rumour.

Did they say what it was up front?

Tbf, my response was poorly worded, I should have said 'presumably' rather than 'clearly'. I don't have any other details other than the size of the 'bid' and that Hoffman said he's confident that they will get ownership (not clear if by that was meant this bid or the longer run).

I'm advised the deal includes leaving Ryton with Sisu and renting it back in the interim.
Can't see SISU going for that. The value isn't in them keeping hold of it and renting it back to us. The value is in us moving out, which would meet the pitch provision requirement allowing SISU to sell the land for housing.

Besides which does anyone want a takeover that sees SISU still involved, especially as our landlord?

If we're going to let Ryton go then lets get it over and done with.

Ok, so this is a mate of a mate rumour and could be bollocks but third bid is for 21m.

Just name people who definitely exist first time instead of dropping 'some on here' and flirting with it forever.
Never been a flirt.
Ok maybe not many on here but there are your RFC and AndreasB then there is that Jonathan Strange and Les Reid who believe Sisu have invested 60 million and deserve it back.
Then there are the ones who are scared to say what they actually think and just Diss off everything that goes on when it is against Sisu.

Any one can say I hate sisu trouble is some don't mean it.

Well he does say interim so it doesn't rule that out, maybe we just rent untill another training facility is ready to use in this scenario.

yeah interim could be just 1 year, i am sure GH would work on a training plan b in background.

also not the same thing but sisu sell players with add ons that may never come to fruition.

like i said i acknowledge its not same as a takeover but maybe they will give some thought to income coming in every few years after a sale.

Has there been any word of what Hoffman actually wants to do with us should he buy us? Investment? New ground? Sell us on to Red Bull?

Last time there was a bit of detail wasn't there, or was that Haskell? I lose track.

The trouble with claiming this deal could be worth 20m or 21m is that it could just as easily turnout being worth just the £2m or so that is actually on the table in cash and current use value of Ryton. If players not sold in the time frame, CCFC not promoted to premiership or at all in the time frame, we don't win the Checkatrade, FA or League cup in the time frame then those elements are worthless.

It would not be unreasonable to say simply the deal is worth £2m with a potential for possible add ons. Probably a more accurate statement in truth

Just depends whose view point you see it from and the spin you put on it. Personally I see it as a bid with a potential to be worth £20m but the actual real worth is almost certainly nothing like that at nearer £2m. It only goes up from that for definite if Ryton is disposed of to ARVO at investment land development value - which brings other issues like replacement and tax in to play

Also a problem, you tell Seppala that a deal is worth £20m, she can turn round and say ok I accept your valuation but I want certainty and therefore more upfront. You then have to argue that it is worth less than that and talk the upfront payment she expects down. Her problem is still clearing ARVO I think, ARVO have a loan of £8m outstanding plus interest but the sum put in total is £16m plus interest. What has been leaked does not seem close to what I feel she will expect

Would be good to have some clarity as to what is or isn't going on sometime soon - yes I know we have no right to but strangely random fans seem to have some of the information somehow. That information should not be getting out at all except as an official statement. It all seems very confused, and I think the leaks to random fans point to weakness not strength. Do we know for certain what is being bid for, Otium or certain assets? I am no longer sure which it is after seeing some of the "informed " gossip

Attractiveness depends very much on the likelihood of achieving add ons.
I think Joy will want a minimum of £10M guaranteed, I do not think Hoffman will offer that.

It won't be long until the complaints about investment start again no matter who the owners are.

Agree with this. It's why it's so important to get out of this division within 2 seasons. Otherwise the euphoria of them being ousted will last a season and people will quickly realise that 4th division footy against teams and players they don't know is shit. It'll be a Gillingham to Yeovil effect except from one season to the next rather than one game.
