The worrying thing is this comes after the threat level was not raised earlier in the day. I presume the security forces have since found plausible evidence that this attacker is part of a wider group. A group that presumably now know they are being hunted and may decide to go out in a similar way.

Agreed.

The only think I will say, is they tend to wait a while before attacking again, when the guard is dropped....

The reason why it wasn't raised after the morning COBRA meeting was because they had managed to keep his name out of the media. However, some fucking idiot in the US authorities, with whom we had shared this information, as a "trusted friend", went and leaked it, thereby sending all Abedi's potential collaborators underground. That prompted the second COBRA meeting where they decided Critical was appropriate.

You two need some chill. Don't take everything you read on the internet so painfully literally.

Not really, I'm very chilled. Few Buds, bit of PS, nice warm evening...

Was just curious as to why you'd make such a sweeping statement about people? Also, Earlsdon makes a very valid point, so please, expand...

Not sure why you're making such a sweeping generalisation of people?
Given some of the posts on other threads...because he/she has an overly focused mind. He/she finds a scapegoat & becomes obsessed with denouncing or attacking it. Like what fundamentalists do

This thread is mad. I was fucking about, try and have some gallows humour etc. I can't believe I'm actually going to have to say this but I don't think all Americans are bellends. Don't take things so literally.

Like has been said, I'm sure if it was another country/people/religion quoted, it would be "gallows humour"

It depends, is that country/people/religion a regularly oppressed minority that's being targeted by hate fuelled people? If they are then it's a very different thing. Have you ever said "I hate Leicester"? I'm sure people didn't think you actually hated everyone from Leicester and used that to legitimise prejudice.

There we go.

As if to underline Liquid's point, we now have what might be thought of as a highly-regarded newspaper, the NY Times, publishing detailed images of the crime scene and the bomb mechanism. But what is the actual fucking point of that? Are they just trying to make Trump look stupid? Or are they backing Trump's rantings that the "intelligence" services in the US are out of control and leak like a sieve?
Either way, these actions have a SERIOUSLY detrimental impact on a live anti-terrorist operation in OUR country, which is why, as per my previous post, we are now at Critical!
Good to hear that information sharing with the US on the case has now stopped. Some of them are clearly irresponsible and dangerous bell-ends.

But that's my point.

No one thinks all muslims are terrorists, yet if someone says 'it's usually muslims' all you hear is 'you're islamaphobic!' - which is exactly why you can't talk about the issue effectively, let alone tackle it.

I know you didn't mean all americans are bellends, i'm not a fool, I'm just pointing out the double standards.
