Agree with both posts, there surely is a element of change from above in what's required and done in a preseason in assembling a squad fit for the league and also targeting achievable targets and that not a dig to last summer were done there but undoubtedly set is back in recruitment a little which started the negativity in the camp.
Moving forwards what we should all do now and it's a positive for us the fans and the players and that's the main point I was trying to make. That feel good factor that the players pick upon during the summer which builds momentum to take into the season.
If we've feeling the positivity surely the players do to.
Here's to a positive 2017/18 campaign.

A rare feel good time supporting the city, I look forward and pray for a season like that.
We as fans deserve that at this football club right?

Looks like he isn't scared of coming for crosses!

Seems to be respected by Pompey fans, but kept out of their side when he was a kid by long-standing Pompey keeper Jamie Ashdown, and since returned to Pompey to be understudy to David Forde. Looks like he played for Barnet during their first stint in L2 and also for Dagenham and Redbridge. Will probably be a bit rough around the edges with so few games under his belt, but it's not like he has just popped out of the academy. I wonder if he is coming in as number 1 here or as understudy to Burge/RCC/someone else.

Really like all these 2 years deals. OK, we may end up stuck with someone who doesn't cut the mustard but to go into 2018 - 2019 with the spine of the team in place will be great even if we don't have a pitch to play on!
We're always at a huge disadvantage having to replace a large contingent of the
1st team every season, it would seem with MR we at last have a plan.

WTF is going on? Can't recall the last time a manager didn't hang around, got on with the recruitment, and is making progress so early. Thought we were lastminute.com or waittillthebigboysreleasetheirunwantedgarbage.com

Fair play MR. We've got a Chief between the sticks.

I don't think this is really a 'SISU' thing, this is Robins pulling his finger out and doing his job which highlights TM and MV's inept recruitment policy. It can't be that difficult since none of these players cost any more than Reid, Foley, Clarke etc yet here we all are (myself included) getting semi-ons about the lads MR is bringing in.

Exactly, it's more that he seems to actually have a plan and a list of what he needs.

He's obviously identified targets within weeks of being here, spoken to clubs, got them done no nonsense... the club are not 'funding' this in a different or new way, or from al alternative income (e.g. Checkatrade) - we make this many signings every year.

Difference is is that they've already been identified instead of poking around PL released lists for any duffers who fancy a kick about.

Not quite sure why we've let Liam go tbh, perhaps he thinks No1 spot is overdue, can't really argue with that. He's a great lad with great potential and been reliable when asked to step in. Anyway good luck to him, hope he does really well for you. Good to see you're building a decent side this season after the crap you've been through. It's a tough physical league and a long one also, ask Plymouth, lol. Best of luck!!

yeah true nothing has changed in recruitment

i mean other than head of recruitment coming in....

Well yes, Tommy has come in and obviously pulled his finger out- my point was that SISU have done nothing different, in response to questions about 'where SISU have gone the money' or 'change to the usual SISU approach' that was all mate.

none of us have a clue what has happend in summer recruitment last year or this year is my only point. yet so many claim to have all the answers.

Fair enough- but if we didn't speculate about things behind the scene and didn't guess and debate about recruitment, signings, managers, the board etc, Nick may as well fuck this forum off and we'll solely discuss Saturdays on Saturday and leave it at that pal

Just the checkatrade? C'mon show some ambition!! It's the Fa Cup as a bare minimum for me.

you can discuss and debate. saying things as if they are fact is wrong though.

nick will try to deflect blame from sisu 247, thats why hes after tm and not tf and co.
i am a mowbray fan but wont rule out his part in summer, i simply recognise recruitmnt is flawed from sisu down too, hence the public promise to change it up and now we are seeing rewards already.
