lol ok. so if was hitting 165yards as my best at range what do you guys think i was using? iron or wood?

Could be any. Depends how shit you are. Would also think if you are using range equipment they tend to be quite old fashioned and more difficult to hit. My local range actually have woods that still have wood on them (although its Yorkshire and they're all tight)

Not a clue. My mate hits his driver 150 yards. Yet that's about a 7 or 8 iron for me.

If you are willing to up you budget a bit. I use Taylor Made Aero Burner. Brilliant clubs.

They also have a second hand section at most golf stores.

I went out on the course on Tuesday for the first time in about 10 years. I've been going up the range a bit over the last year or so but its not the same. Get yourself out on the course.

@covcity4life Do you have anyone you can borrow an old set of clubs from? Would warn against buying clubs that are too cheap as you may struggle. Check eBay & gumtree, etc. Try going down to American Golf and having a swing with a few clubs to see what feels right and then shop around for second hand/last season version.

Did you pay attention to what club you were using today?

You're either closing the face of your club as you hit the ball or you're dropping your rear shoulder as you swing back to hit the ball which will cause you too hook the ball.

7 iron

Thr vuy next to me told me to change face direction

I think u r right about shoulders. I was thinkng way too much today and lost any natural flow to swing.

One simple thing I was told which may or may not help you is to stop trying to hit the ball so hard. Seems counterintuitive but I started hitting further when I slowed down a little and stopped trying to hit it so hard. Way more consistent and accurate.

I knew they sold paint, home adornments, furniture, gardening accessories and pet food, but had no idea they gave out sporting advice too.

I may go in today and ask for some tennis shot tips.

The Welcome hills at Stratford is decent but costly. For me it's just more expensive bushes to hit your ball in! The Ingon manor is a decent course and you will get a round for about £20. For a cheap municipal course Newbold commyn is also good for about £10 in the afternoons.
Sign upto tee times on line and they will give you all the cheapest courses in your area and cheapest prices. If your crap like I am I wouldn't really be paying anything more than £25 for a round.

went again lol. 5 iron this time. i did better accuracy wise but not too good distance wise. 155 was my best

its all about my swing. i am not consistent at all

Ah, golf. A good walk spoilt. I've had some analysis done on my swing, and apparently the problem is that I'm standing too close to the ball.... after I've hit it. :)

(The old ones are always the best).
