In terms of permenant signings Mowbray made I think 1 decent one in Vincelot over two seasons. The rest have been average at best or poor.

Other than him He wouldn't look at lower league players and targeted players who were of premier league stock if they meant aging dinasaurs or young up and coming players. Without Armstrong and Murphy last season we'd have been down.

I actually just think he was lazy and not interested.

Pathetic waste of space in the end.

I think he underestimated the league and thought he would walk it with a bunch of prem kids. Then he realised how tough it is and ran away from it

Adams had an 8th place finish in a higher league.

Go on then other than Vincelot how many other permenant signings he made would you say we're good?

Not sure it matters wether perms or loans. Budget was used and he got likes of armstrong murphy kent vincelot cole and ricketts. All good in that 8th placed season.

This season he missed out ontargets and plan b was clearly not good enouhh. No arguments

Still gave us our best season in a decade. I havw no doubt if he had stuck sround he woukd have got us goijg again results wise before a xmass window.

But hes gone now. I just will remmeber him fondly

And who leaves football clubs without a pay off because the club itself needs the money.
Great man total respect for him and yes he gave us the one season to be proud of in the last 10 years
Would definitely shake his hand and thank him if I ever met him.

You cannot use Cole as an example of a good signing. One of mowbrays major problems was he did all he could to accomadate Cole

To be fair if I massively fucked up a job I'd be ashamed to take a pay off or expect anything.

I'm happy we've brought bodies in, I hope Foley and Clarke can have the intended impact but we also thought the same on Henderson, hunt and ramage when they first joined.

Well said. The people starting s love in with slade are pathetic. Especially as they have a go at me for liking mowbray lol couldnt make it up

But to be clear. I am also happy with slades signings and really hope we see a committed manly team from.now on. I hope one day we unveil a statue of slade!

I seem to have this constant battle with all my mates who are Cov fans. They can't blame Mowbray through their sheer vision that SISU hold the responsibility to everything.

Yes they are massively to blame for a lot of things, but Mowbray's flaws do exist. His player selection and transfer dealings in the last two windows. These two things are a massive part of being a manager. He can palm it off on Venus all he wants, but he blew the best promotion chance we've had in years, and also put us in for prime relegation candiadtes this year.

I'm sorry, but I can't see through that, as much as I do hate SISU.

There's two ways of looking at everything.

He took over a team that was spiralling to league 2 and created a team which people were disappointed that finished outside the play offs, yes mowbray decisions were a factor as to why we missed out, but without him we would never have been in that position to begin with.

It went a bit pear shaped this season but I believe if Mowbray had stuck it out he would have stabilised into midtable, which whilst would still be disappointing given last season, is still much better than the current position.

I think we all know the real problem here, you've still never got over jim O'Brien leaving

Mowbray had lost his appetite to turn us around

How many other managers do you know who have screwed up far worse waited to get sacked and took a massive pay off?
Fair play to him

The suggestion was that he had a clause in his contract after 10 games we could sack him for no recompense if we were in the bottom 4

One for the archive!

Can understand why bringing in a tougher looking defence was welcomed...to be fair his signings clarke, foley etc should have done the business.

At a push I can see why Slade was seen as a positive thing too, when compared to a broken looking Venus after that defeat at Southend.

Hated our style of football under him though.

Haha this thread. With the earlier signings under slade things did look more positive but it went massively wrong.
