Which means we won't have a Labour government for a long time. We just had an election where the Tories did next to nothing. Yet they only lost 12 seats. They won't take the result for granted next time.

I can't be arsed to trawl through the whole thread but I bet you predicted a Labour trouncing.
You're obsessional hatred of Corbyn is becoming ridiculous mate.

I think you may well be right although the Brexit negotiations may see Tory infighting now they have a minority govt. if they do sharpen the knives on each other they may become as unelectable as people thought labour is under Corbyn.

You had better take a look if you want to make stupid comments like that.

I had money on at 5/1 on a hung parliament. Put it on 08:20 on the day of the vote. I am a lifelong supporter and voter of Labour. I am a union member. I donate to the Labour party.....although nothing since Corbyn took over. I don't like the bloke. I might have still voted Labour if he had been honest about his past.

So what if I grew up in the most select areas of Coventry? Aldermoor lad until about 14. Also did the Manor Farm estate, Wood End, Willenhall, Bell Green and Spon End. Don't let my posh upbringing make you think that I am a Tory.

FFS, I know you're not a tory! I still think you're dislike/hatred of Corbyn is over the top, just my opinion.

Just like I think that your backing of Corbyn is well OTT. It seems you see him as a hero because the Tories won 12 less seats. That is it. No massive turnaround. And he took over from someone who was a joke of a leader. I don't count that as a victory. More like an opportunity lost. Sorry if I seem OTT. But I am upset about the whole thing. Have been voting Labour for over 30 years. I want us to be able to win and not celebrate a loss.

We have had crap leaders for years and still come close. What would happen with a votable leader without a dodgy past?

I like Corbyn, but I don't see him as a hero. I would only do that if he delivered the manifesto he set out. He didn't get chance.
However, I have faith in him to do it if he did the chance, that faith maybe misplaced.

I actually think people switched to Labour because they're sick of austerity and are seeing through the lie that we're all in it together.

I think it's more the notion that everyone is going mental for Labour but they didn't actually even win.

People were looking for a reason not to vote Tory, but a lot of what got in the way of that was Corbyn. People are acting as if it was purely down to him that they did better than expected, it wasn't. The Tories really were just that shit. A better leader would have taken the Labour party and won that election.

Even for me personally I may well have voted for Labour if they had someone better in charge. I'm one of millions too.

Exactly. Personally I think that Corbyn lost us more votes than he gained. It actually hurt me not to vote Labour. I voted for someone who wasn't even there to be voted for. Couldn't vote for anyone else.

This country is ready for a fresh party. The people need someone they can trust. Sorry to say but Corbyn isn't that person.

The backbone of Jeremy Corbyn’s campaign was undoubtedly the 90 rallies he held in seats across the country, whipping up crowds of enthused supporters.

While even his most fierce critics conceded it was evidence the Labour leader had injected a new energy into left politics, sceptics were united in one common argument: Rallies in front of large crowds of people who already support you do not necessarily translate to votes in a general election.

But in locations across the country, from some that looked unwinnable to key marginals and Tory targets - as well as safe seats - Labour MPs were unexpectedly elected or dramatically increased their majority and vote share.

That would have doubled if it wasn't for Scotland. So perhaps sturgeons indyref 2 demands saved may not anything the Tories did

Or was it vote for someone to keep Corbyn out?

That makes us 2 out of how many on this thread? And we are not alone in being unhappy with Corbyn. Take the same percentage over the UK and Labour would have won comfortably.

but how many only voted Labour because of Corbyn and wouldn't of bothered if it was anyone else.
He has become a bit of a cult, which I find a bit worrying.

I don't know anyone who voted Labour because of Corbyn. But I know several who didn't vote Labour because of Corbyn. But not one said anything until my views were clear. It seems a shameful thing for a Labour supporter to admit.

I am a traditional Labour voter, but that was a great manifesto for working people.

This is hilarious. When the election was called the polls had Labour being wiped out with the worst result in their history. We were told it was all down to Corbyn.

Now they've done far better than anyone expected to the point the Conservatives don't even have a majority and the narrative has changed to Labour would have won with anyone but Corbyn. That would have required one of the biggest swings to Labour in history.

And of course ignores the fact that if May had thought there was any chance of a result other than an increased Conservative majority there wouldn't have been an election.

I know quite a few people who don't normally vote who voted because of Corbyn.

That is something that most Labour supporters seem to have a problem with understanding. It is a vicious circle.

Labour overspends. The Tories cut everything to the bone to be able to afford tax cuts for the rich. So most suffer. We reached the stage where people have had enough and want more money in their pockets. Labour should have won.

Even the Labour MP's didn't want Corbyn. But when push comes to shove they will vote Labour. Then the manifesto offered people what they wanted.

I watched everything political on TV. Been off work again on the sick. Nobody dod anything for me. Corbyn was nothing special. He didn't even show any emotion.

Someone else may have persuaded you to vote for Labour but they would not have garnered the incredible support Corbyn has from the young, when I was young my political views were pretty extreme but I've changed over the years. I'm reasonably sure Corbyn has mellowed aswell and now regrets some of the views he held, its always been about the policies for me and then the leader. Anyway I don't think anyone is going to persuade you that he is someone you can vote for so I'm going to leave it there.

In the end this is all hypocritical nonsense

The faux pas outrage is because the left hate to lose.

Which is odd as in this country they should be used to it.

There was a lot of tactical voting in Scotland to beat the SNP. It didn't happen in 2015 but Labour & Conservative voters have wised up to it since. This also happened in the last elections for the MSP's where Davidson won in an SNP stronghold because alot of labour voters voted for her, Sturgeon wasn't happy about it then and I suspect she won't be now, shame eh?!

The Conservatives were also out in force knocking on doors in a real charm offensive, still couldn't convince me to vote for them though, yet I never saw any Labour canvasser, maybe they didn't bother as Stirling was a seat they were unlikely to win and they concentrated on winnable seats
