Silver coloured cream charger cartridges (1 Viewer)

Anyone else notice loads of these empty cartridges in parks? Keep seeing them when I walk the dog and as I was out really early this morning (4.15 am) Coundon Park's litter hadn't been picked up.

These cartridges were everywhere and besides the emoty cartridges there were also two empty boxes, both of which stated they contained 24 cartridges each.

I take it kids are getting high on nitrous oxide? Just how widespread is the problem? Anyone know?

Had a quick look on Google and the last reference I can see is from 2014, but I am now encountering loads of these, these days and also not just isolated to Coundon Park, seen them elsewhere too.

Yeah, sorry, I meant that on the box they said they were 'cream chargers' meaning for whipped cream. They WERE all silver coloured.

How widespread is it? I see they are very cheap to buy, so a cheap quick fix.

massive at festivals. It was legal but I'm not sure about now.
Think it it's fairly harmless.
If you can get the stuff into a festival you can charge 3 quid a pop so people have made some decent money out of it.

I saw one of those at the Leamington Peace Festival last year.

She was off her tits, no pants on and it was a windy day, you know how it goes.

It is still dangerous as there is a risk of death, coz apparently a lack of oxygen can occur when using nitrous oxide

Yeah, that's my understanding too.

In the park this morning there were a load of empty balloons too, so it all fits together to give the full picture if what is going on.

More empty cartridge boxes as well.

Just wonder if it is adults or kids. Obviously more worrying if it is children.

Mostly kids, between 13-20 I would say and probably older people as well just not that many

Obviously the fear is if it is a spreading trend. I do keep seeing more and more of them about.

As the cartridges are so cheap to buy you have to think they are an attractive proposition to secondary school kids.

On Amazon and Argos etc, they do say for sale to over 18's only, but if you have a sign in account it is very easy to just order them you would have thought.

I'd imagine it's a lot less harmless than sneaking a bottle of vodka down the park and ending up getting your stomach pumped.

Is this basically laughing gas?
When my Bro was an operating department assistant in the NHS they would have a go on it.
Think there is a low risk of respiratory failure.
Like back in the day at the dentists, or was that a different gas?
Edit ;- I think there have been a couple of CT articles on this subject over the last 6-12 months.

They are big with school kids at the minute particularly secondary school. Shops sell them you don't have to be 18. You crack them into a balloon and inhale them. There is a small risk and the 'high' tends to last less than a minute. People do 3-4 at once to get a bigger hit. The culmilative effect of them seems to get people drunk.

So you did see hippy crack.

It's just laughing gas. Same stuff they give to pregnant women. It's not really that bad.

The tabloids labeled it hippy crack because that's what they do.

It's huge in party resorts abroad - Malia, Laganas, Magaluf etc

To be fair it's a decent buzz for about half a minute

All of this taking gas out of a balloon, what happened to fingering and drinking 20/20?
I used to do that with my mates, but then I decided I was hetrosexual and started going out with women instead.

Strange I seen this at the memorial park yesterday. There was about 20 cartridges on the car park floor there. A few of my mates 'back in the day' used to do laughing gas. To be honest it was funny watching them do it rather than do it myself!
Clearly didn't find it that hilarious that they couldn't use the friggin bin!!

Fingering died out with the abolition of phone boxes I think.

They're a laugh, you should try them. You only get danger when you have those huge canisters like you see in a pub cellar. The little silver ones you would never have enough to do any proper damage.

I wish the bastards would clean up after themselves though.

Ana average of 3 Deaths a year are attributed to it.
