Will we challenge (1 Viewer)

Simple really, do you think we will be promoted next season, whether that will be from automatic promotion or via the play off's,anything other than that surely would be a disappointing season. apologies if there has been a post of this already..

I expect us to get promoted.

Two season job tops. We don't do it this season we have to do it next year. Fail in that task and it'll be years of struggle I fear and us possibly dallying down the wrong end of the table for the foreseeable future.

I expect promotion. Right man at the helm. Just need to continue to recruit wisely.

If we continue recruiting the level of players we have already, we will finish in the top half and hopefully make a push for automatic/playoff place.

I expect Top 7, however do have to bare in mind that teams are going to come and make it very difficult for us. We're a big name in this league and we play at a big ground. Teams are going to come to the Ricoh, shut up shop and play for a 0-0.

I think we may just scrape the play offs. It's gonna be harder than we think, if we can get a top league two striker in and a few more key players then things will be more comfortable.
Personally I think next year we will achieve promotion rather than this.

Personally,i like to believe we will get promoted next season,i fear that if we do not, then we will remain in this league if not worse for years to come.

It all depends on how many managers we get through.
Just the one.

That's August sorted.

Then it will be two in September, another one after Christmas and then a further one come Easter in a bid to get us out of the relegation zone.

Yes we will have to learn how to break teams down but i also look forward to games where teams dont attack us!!!

As others have said a lot depends on keeping the manager, if we are doing wellCome
December he must be backed to strengthen in any areas he sees fit in January.
Inevitably the better we perform the more sought after he will become, the club has to
Ensure it does all it can to keep him happy.

Know what you mean but when was the last time we won a cup? Things can change
And also at some point we have to arrive at a level we can compete at an equal level.

Can't just assume because we struggled at League One level we will now struggle at the level of League Two.

I am confident we are in for a good season. Just need a few more good signings and players of the right mental strength and attitude and I think we will do really well.

Too much head dropping from us as a club these past few seasons. Need the Leicester spirit of fighting for every ball, being a cohesive footballing unit and building a belief system amongst the squad.

Seems that Robins is looking for big, mentally strong characters for the dressing room. We have been too weak for far too long.

No more being bullied and out-muscled. We need pace and strength and a smattering of skill.

I trust Robins to deliver just that.

Worry that if we don't go straight up the uncertainty of where we play the season after might mean we struggle. So for me it has to be this season and early negotiations on where we play next

Sorry Sylus but I hate these threads because from our relegation years way back to dropping out of the premier with the ill fated sign 'we'll be back' until now we have all stated this will be our year.
Why? Or better still why haven't we been promoted or even near to promoted?
The answer, for me, is we have always lacked a manager with a strong work ethic.I used to live abroad and when I returned to England was surprised at how many 20 - 40 year olds thought their 'coolness' was hip when in fact they were confusing coolness with laziness. The 'I'm a laid back kind of guy' can be translated to 'I'm an idle ba$t&rd'. I used to dislike cliches but in some cases understand their mean now.
Sayings like - nothing succeeds without hard work, or you don't get anything without hard graft - is so true. That is what made Shankly, Paisley, Jimmy Hill and Fergie so great. Not their knowledge, but their attitude towards working.
We will only achieve anything if the players decide they want success and work for it. The manager is the one who picks the team and if they pick players who they know don't give their all then they are to blame. Players don't pick themselves.
Managers nowadays don't have loyalty, they don't know the area where the team is located. And, because of the large amount of money involved in football many players, and managers, have their money tied up in investment so logically they are more interested in what is happening off the park than on it.

Personally I don't think we will challenge . Our recruitment may look to have gone well but when the likes of Thomas , Turnbull and possibly Willis or Stevenson or both move on I think our team will be weaker than last . We still have not addressed our goal scoring (still time I know) but strikers are harder to come by than defenders and midfield. Just hope M R gets that part right , but fear he wont

Yes we will challenge and I expect us to go up as champions if not second behind Swindon but as I couldn't name10 teams in this league don't listen to me.

We are still missing a goalscorer. If we manage to sign one then automatic promotion should be on. We already have a decent side for Division 4. But even if we don't manage to sign one mid table would be a disaster. It should be playoffs minimum.

We will have more of a chance the more we all put our hands in our pockets and help fund the quality of players we need.

We will be able to afford a couple of decent players just from the small cut we get from away ticket sales for the tickets you will be buying

Is this meaning buying S T? If so I don't think there will be many more taker. This season people like myself want to see what were getting for our money we will still be there if the entertainment is good but if not we wont.

People have been putting their hands in their pockets for many years ( in my case 60 plus) and what has happened since our present owners arrived one tin pot cup final the rest has been downhill .As I have previously said last season our grand leader said we were well in profit we had one of our biggest takes with the Wembley gate plus S T money (not mine) and still you want more money from fans were going to play in the 4th division not the premier league.

I'm not banking on it myself. Love a play off place, love an automatic even more. But I just feel like I'd be setting myself up for a fall if I started to believe it's any more than an outside chance.
