Springsteen at the Ricoh 2013 hands down best gig I've been to
I know a few people who rave about the Boss and tell me I should check his music out as he's that good. Only heard a few of his singles so can't really judge him.

In no particular order, off the top of my head, my top 5 live performances are:

Dinosaur Jr at the Hummingbird c.1992/93
Neds Atomic Dustbin at Wolverhampton Civic Hall 1990
New Order Reading Festival 1993 - Widely regarded as one of New Orders finest live gigs- They split just after.
Jesus and Mary Chain Brum 2017
Pavement Brixton Academy 2010

There's loads more right up therewith these and I'd probably change a couple if I give it a lot of thought.

Best in Cov was Julian Cope at the tic toc 1991? when he was dressed in a dog suit

I watched about 10 minutes of him at Glastonbury in 2009 and fucked off, I'd heard enough.
Just not my cup of tea.

Top 5 off the top of my head right now .......all from my wilderness period......but I can actually remember these gigs as opposed to the hundreds of other gigs & raves that just fade into a blurry befuddled haze....

Stone Roses secret gig at Pilton village party in 1995. (I got in for free & fell out of a moving car on the way home from that gig. I was also one of the "local nutters" (according to the NME review) who scaled the tent pole:singing::singing::cigar:

Nirvana @ portsmouth poly 1989
Portishead @ acoustic tent glastonbury 1995
Rollercoaster tour @ plymouth (Jesus & Mary chain, Blur, Dinosaur Jr. & My bloody valentine) loudest most shambolic gig......made me ears bleed.
Pixies @ portsmouth guildhall 1990.

Now that is what you call a rock and roll lifestyle ! Why should the bands have all the fun ? Me and my two mates always made sure we enjoyed the concert we went to no matter how good/bad they were. Met some great people over the years who like us liked a good drink and my mate who would take any drug going would disappear for hours on end and return grinning like a Cheshire cat ! Great memories though and one that stands out is when the three of us came back from Monsters Of Rock on the train, sat there covered head to foot in mud, much to the bewilderment of other passengers, but we were that out of it we couldn't have cared less. ☺

I wanted to see him for years and was delighted when he turned up at the Ricoh. Must say I was disappointed by it in the end.

The entire gig is on you tube pretty good audio quality
The highlight was doing the entire Born to run album as a tribute to James Gandolfini

And this is what spoiled it for me. RIP to him and quite rightly he was mentioned but in some places it was like a funeral.

I really enjoyed Oasis at the Ricoh. One of the best bands in recent decades.

Happily I swapped my standing tickets for seated at the last minute, and enjoyed watching the piss flying around instead of being covered in it.

We wore plastic poncho's for this very reason, plus we enjoyed The Enemy far more than Oasis that day, I felt they were a bit soul-less unfortunately.

Changing my thread a bit what about the worst concert/gig you've seen ? For me it has to be Lou Reed at Warwick University a few years back.We went in anticipation of seeing him perform as the group of us hadn't seen him live before. But he was just plugging a new album and it was terrible,a mixture of folk and jazz. The crowd shouted do some old stuff etc but he ignored that and carried on with the weird music.
Halfway through we went back to the bar and my mate who stayed in his seat said he did do A Perfect Day but admitted it was bad !

Saw Mansun at Wolvehampton civic hall. They had some real problems with the sound system so walked off after 3 or 4 songs never to come back on.
Also the Stone Roses in 1995 just before John Squire left and they split. Weren't the best live.

I've seen some great bands like Deep Purple, Rainbow, Pink Floyd, Def Leppard and Dio but 2 of the best I saw I only went because there was a spare ticket on the day, Thin Lizzy at De Montfort Hall Renegade tour and Fleetwood Mac at NEC Tango in the Night tour. Garry Moore at the NEC was also brilliant and Squeeze were surprisingly good.

Would have liked to have seen them. One of the greatest performances was the live aid performance-Freddie had the crowd in the palm of his hand.

I was referring to the Specials in Leeds mate! Never saw Queen, not really my thing but he was some front man.

Best recent concert was on Wednesday, Saw Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow at the NEC. Great show, Ritchie still has it!

In the past I've seen all Specials, The Beat, Madness, Duran Duran, The Who, The Stones, Purple, Whitesnake and many more, but the best of all, Queen at Knebworth in 86.

Did anyone see Oasis at Knebworth? To draw 250,000 people and a 2.5m demand for tickets after just two albums is an amazing achievement

I Went and actually enjoyed The Charlatans and Manics as the supports more than Oasis. I think by then they'd got a bit too big and it was just like a Karaoke.

I seen oasis at old Trafford cricket ground 2002 Richard Ashcroft was the support they were fantastic

Seen them at the Ricoh and didn't really enjoy it, mind you I had a row with a steward halfway through the gig and got piss all over me coat

I was at the Jefferson Airplane and Doors concert at the Roundhouse at Chalk Farm, London. 1968. That was an awesome concert. You can't beat Grace Slick and Jim Morrison.
Other great concerts I saw were Ginger Baker's Airforce at Birmingham Town Hall and Ralph McTell at Birmingham Town Hall. Both fantastic concerts.
I often visited the Mother's Club in Erdington, Birmingham where my favourite bands to see were Fairport Convention and The Eclection.
Saw The Who live at The Belfry (Sutton Coldfield, I think) with Roger Daltrey and Pete Townsend at their peak. An amazing live band!

<snip>. My favourite was way back in 1970 at the Bath Festival a three dayer when Led Zeppelin headlined. Also Canned Heat were on too and even though I was just a teenager I remember it being talked about as our answer to Woodstock.<snip>
I saw Led Zeppelin at The Locarno. Also saw Jimi Hendrix at the Coventry Theatre. In those days, Coventry could attract top acts.

Zeppelin were steeped in class, could play blues standards all night.
The Lanchester gigs were quality, saw groundhogs, Genesis, Sabbath, purple, who, and loads I have forgotten.
Not a fan of the big stadium 02 gigs, etc.
Some of the best musical experiences have been in folk clubs sitting next to the piss artists.
Coventry area always had a rich seam of talent.....
